Green Lantern Reveals Unmissable New Construct in Epic Cover Art

Warning! Spoilers for Green Lantern #11 by DC Comics

As the Green Lantern’s “Last Lanterns” arc reaches its conclusion at DC Comics, a new cover showcases an incredible construct created by one of the strongest young heroes, Keli. In the stunning cover art, the highly creative Teen Lantern makes a giant robotic construct with her gauntlet, that recreates an Iron Man-like armor previously worn by fellow Green Lantern, Simon Baz.

Keli Quintela is one of the newest Green Lanterns in the DC Comics universe, as the 11-year-old hero first appeared in Young Justice #1 and was co-created by Brian Michael Bendis and Patrick Gleason. Unlike her fellow Green Lanterns, Keli gained her powers from tapping into the Green Lantern Power Battery and using it to power a gauntlet instead of a normal Power Ring. Keli was one of the few Green Lantern heroes to keep their powers following the destruction of the Central Power Battery and has been a key player in seeking out who was responsible for the attack.

As the current Green Lantern run by Geoffrey Thorne, Marco Santucci, Juan Castro, Michael Atiyeh, and Rob Leigh hints at the person responsible for the massive attack on the Green Lantern Corps, a new cover shows what’s coming next for the group of heroes. The solicit reveals the powers of Jo Mullein, the United Planets, and the ex-Green Lanterns might not be enough to stop the mysterious Anti-Guardian. The cover for the series by Bernard Chang and Alex Sinclair features Keli, aka the Teen Lantern creating an impressive construct that should be useful in the upcoming battle.

Keli might not have a traditional Power Ring, but her gauntlet has helped her create unique constructs. For example, even when she’s in a coma, she recreated her former Young Justice teammates as constructs to fight on her behalf when Jo Mullein tried to transfer her to safety. Keli is recreating the armor Simon Baz wore against the Yellow Lanterns after his Power Ring stopped working in this new cover.

The battle for the fate of the Green Lantern Corps and the entire universe hangs in the balance in the penultimate issue of the “Last Lanterns” arc!

What’s impressive about Keli is that her full powers are still unknown. Her gauntlet and willpower have allowed her to create incredibly impressive constructs, even under extreme duress. Although, Keli’s unpredictable powers are somewhat of a ticking time bomb. It certainly appears the Teen Lantern will be key in stopping the Anti-Guardian and restoring the power to the Green Lantern Corps.
