In Green Arrow #9 by Joshua Williamson and Sean Izaakse, Amanda Waller is pressing forward after her decision to claim the Hall of Justice and turn it into the Hall of Order. Peacemaker and his team take control of the security measures already in place and use them to keep the Justice League out for good.
To find Arsenal, Green Arrow makes a beeline for the Hall of Order. Queen reveals that Batman created a secret entrance into the building and only informed a few select members about it, one of the few ideas Bruce created that Green Arrow likes.
Green Arrow Admits Batman Was Wise to Create a Backdoor to the Hall of Justice
After a harrowing experience across time and space, Green Arrow finally managed to return home. However, everything about his home was upside down. The Justice League was disbanded, the Hall of Justice was barren, and Oliver’s close ally Arsenal was missing. Queen began a search for Arsenal, which resulted in Green Arrow running afoul of his creepy antagonist Onomatopoeia. However, Arrow defeated his enemy and disguised himself as Onomatopoeia to get close to Brick and find out where Roy Harper went. Unfortunately, Oliver made the shocking discovery that Arsenal was working for Amanda Waller.
Fans who know anything about Green Arrow and Batman know that the two don’t always get along. While the two have a mutual respect for one another, they’ve often been at odds with one another (especially due to Batman’s annoyance at Green Arrow ripping off much of Bruce’s gimmicks and weaponry). However, despite whatever qualms they’ve had in the past, Oliver is a wise enough man to know when an idea’s a good one. A secret access to the Hall of Justice is a brilliant idea and even Green Arrow can appreciate Batman’s foresight for this exact kind of circumstance.
Green Arrow Can Learn Something From Batman’s Preparation
Green Arrow and Batman may share some similarities, but Oliver doesn’t think ahead far as much as Bruce does. But this instance shows just how wise it is to prepare for the unexpected. Green Arrow may thrive on improvisation and handle himself well by adapting to sudden changes, but preparing contingencies like this is a valuable trait. Sure, few heroes could match Bruce’s prep-time skills, but it doesn’t hurt to try and incorporate a little bit of foresight into one’s routine. Even Green Arrow can appreciate Batman’s incredible preparedness if it means being able to save a friend.
