Google Stadia Adds Ubisoft+ Library Starting Today

Starting today, Ubisoft Plus subscribers now have access to the service through Google Stadia. This comes after the company promised to deliver a beta version of the service to both Amazon Luna and Google Stadia back in October. The launch gives all existing Ubisoft Plus subscribers access to the service’s catalog through Stadia hardware.

Formerly known as Uplay+, Ubisoft Plus is the company’s equivalent to that of Xbox Game Pass. Subscribers pay a monthly subscription fee of $15 to gain access to the company’s catalog of well over 100 different games. This includes titles from the company’s back catalog, but also its newer releases, including the excellent Immortals Fenyx Rising. The service was originally limited to PC but has since expanded to cover Amazon Luna and now Google Stadia, allowing it to be accessed from even more platforms.

According to a report from TheGamer, the rollout has already started, but is coming in waves and is expected to finish by December 16. Ubisoft Plus subscribers simply need to link their Stadia account to their Ubisoft one through the latter’s website. There is no additional fee required and subscribers do not even need to have a Stadia Pro subscription to take advantage of it. However, as reported back in October, it is launching in a beta state and is not expected to have the entirety of the Ubisoft Plus catalog available on launch.

For the games included in the launch, though, this brings Stadia’s many benefits to Ubisoft Plus subscribers. This includes cross-platform progression, allowing subscribers to save the game on one device and continue that save from any other device that can run Stadia. But more importantly, this means that subscribers will be able to play the latest Ubisoft games without a high-end PC – a godsend for beautiful, yet graphically demanding games like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

If anything, this makes Ubisoft Plus a much more appealing service. Launching at $15 per month, it was already lagging behind Xbox Game Pass, which can be purchased for $10 per month and offers far more games. However, coming to a platform other than PC might just seal the deal for fans of Ubisoft games, especially for those that have been avoiding Amazon Luna (and for good reason, too). Still, the service does lack in quantity, but with the recent release of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Immortals Fenyx Rising, perhaps it can make up for that with quality.
