Goku’s Strongest Form Ever is a Fusion, But It’s Not with Vegeta

Goku’s Strongest Form Ever is a Fusion, But It’s Not with Vegeta

Goku and Vegeta easily have the most iconic fusions in Dragon Ball history, but the most iconic isn’t the same thing as the most powerful. Unfortunately for the Prince of Saiyans, Goku’s strongest fusion ever is actually with a group of humans, and that fusion might rank among Dragon Ball’s strongest fighters of all time.

Introduced in the Dragon Ball Z: The Real 4-D at Super Tenkaichi Budokai is Goku’s ridiculously strong God Fusion form. The 4-D ride at Universal Studios Japan finds Goku, Vegeta, Krillin, Piccolo, and Gohan fighting at the World Martial Arts Tournament. Though the fight is fierce, it’s interrupted by the arrival of Broly in his strongest form ever, God Broly. Goku Blue and Vegeta Blue aren’t enough to stop the rampaging Saiyan, causing Goku to resort to Shenron’s aid. In order to defeat Broly, Shenron gives Goku access to God Fusion. Using this technique, Goku actually fuses with the ride-goers to achieve what could be his strongest form ever, God Fusion Goku. With the audience amplifying Goku’s strength, he’s easily able to obliterate God Broly with an ultra-powerful Kamehameha.

While Dragon Ball’s strongest fusion is still probably Zamasu and Goku Black, God Fusion Goku is a serious threat as proven by his fight with God Broly. Legendary Super Saiyan Broly alone is strong enough to battle both Goku and Vegeta in their strongest forms at the time. God Broly is even stronger than that (and is probably Broly’s strongest form), swatting the Saiyans aside like flies. If God Fusion Goku is strong enough to decimate God Broly, then there are few forms in Dragon Ball history that can rival it.

God Fusion Goku is Stronger Than True Ultra Instinct Goku

Goku’s Strongest Form Ever is a Fusion, But It’s Not with Vegeta

Of course, with any new form comes the inevitable question of how it stacks up against what came before it. Previously, Goku’s strongest form was True Ultra Instinct. This form introduced in recent chapters of Dragon Ball Super gives Goku a huge power boost, allows him to react without thinking, and gives him the ability to create an aura projection. While this Goku might be quicker and a better hand-to-hand combatant, it just can’t match the raw power of God Fusion Goku. True Ultra Instinct Goku had to strain to be on even footing with Gas after the villain had suffered extensive battle damage. Meanwhile, God Fusion Goku took out the strongest Saiyan ever in his strongest form ever without much struggle. It’s just not a contest.

Fortunately for fans of Super and Ultra Instinct, few would consider a theme park attraction like Dragon Ball Z: The Real 4-D at Super Tenkaichi Budokai to be canon to the rest of the series. As a result of this, it’s unlikely this form will appear again outside of another theme park ride. Still though, there’s something interesting about the fact that Goku’s strongest fusion isn’t with Vegeta or any Saiyan, but instead with a group of humans. This actually tracks with the series’ themes, as Goku’s strength is repeatedly tied to his connection to humanity. In a way, God Fusion Goku is the ultimate evolution of the Spirit Bomb. As silly as it seems, Goku’s strongest Dragon Ball fusion might just come from theme-park attendants rather than Vegeta.
