Godzilla Vs Kong Novelization Synopsis Teases All-Out War

Godzilla Vs Kong Novelization Synopsis Teases All-Out War

The official synopsis for the upcoming Godzilla vs. Kong novelization teases an all-out war between the two famous movie monsters. Godzilla vs. Kong will be the fourth film in Legendary’s “MonsterVerse” cinematic universe, serving as a direct sequel to both Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Kong: Skull Island. Directed by Adam Wingard (You’re Next, The Guest), the film will see the two titular monsters pitted against each other. It will also mark the second time Godzilla and King Kong have starred together in a live-action movie after appearing in 1962’s King Kong vs. Godzilla. However, Legendary’s film will not be a remake of the original.

Few concrete details are known about the plot of Godzilla vs. Kong. Still, between the film’s synopsis and seeing the trajectory the series has been going in based on previous MonsterVerse movies, a few things can explain the film’s plot. The post-credit scene in Godzilla: King of the Monsters saw Alan Jonah (Charles Dance) purchase King Ghidorah’s severed head, perhaps hinting at an appearance by Mechagodzilla or Mecha-King Ghidorah in the upcoming film. The film’s official synopsis also reveals that Kong and Godzilla’s battle will be tied to humanity’s and the Titans’ ultimate fate.

The synopsis for Godzilla vs. Kong’s novelization has been revealed and hints toward an all-out war (via Kaiju News Outlet). The synopsis teases that the battle between Kong and Godzilla will be going on as “humanity fights for its future.” It also mentions that Kong and Godzilla’s conflict will escalate to the point where it becomes “an all-out war.” The novelization will be released on May 25, 2021.

The war may not only be between Kong and Godzilla. Recently, Warner Bros. revealed the first footage for the film at this year’s CCXP. The footage showed that Kong has been captured and is currently imprisoned with some kind of collar around his neck. This could lead to conflict between Kong and Monarch, although it’s not entirely clear who has captured the great ape.

Given the hints that have been dropping, it seems more than likely that the battle between Godzilla and Kong will go beyond the two monsters and potentially pose an extensional threat to humanity’s future. Given the scope of the fight based on both the film and the novelization’s respective synopses, it seems like other Kaiju could be involved as well. While the film is still a few months away, it looks like Godzilla vs. Kong will feature a conflict that is more bombastic than anything we’ve seen in the previous MonsterVerse films.
