Godzilla: King of the Monsters Actor Addresses Monsterverse Return After GvK Absence

Godzilla: King of the Monsters star Thomas Middleditch comments on his potential return to Legendary’s Monsterverse. Released in 2019, Godzilla: King of the Monsters serves as a follow-up to Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla in 2014, introducing a new cast of characters for another monster-filled adventure. Middleditch starred in the film as Sam Coleman, a member of Monarch, though he hasn’t reprised the role for any subsequent Monsterverse projects, including 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong.

In a recent interview with Screen Rant to promote Solar Opposites’ Valentine’s Day special, Middleditch reveals that he would be open to reprising his role as Sam in a future Monsterverse movie. Unfortunately, however, it doesn’t look like anything is on the cards just yet. Check out Middleditch’s full comment below:

“I would always say yes. But I don’t know if Sam is on the list of characters to return. But I certainly wouldn’t say, ‘No.’ It was the very first and only time that I had been in a big movie like that, and there were a couple scenes where I was like, “Wow, this is crazy.” I would jump at the chance to do that again. It was real fun. Put in a good word for me, Grant. [Chuckles]”

More to come…
