God of War Ragnarök Streamers Are Dead-Ringers For Kratos And Atreus

God of War Ragnarök Streamers Are Dead-Ringers For Kratos And Atreus

Kratos and Atreus may be fictional characters in God of War Ragnarok, but a pair of streamers may be the closest thing to the Ghost of Sparta and his young son existing in the real world. The second and final chapter of the Norse-based God of War reboot saga finally launched on PlayStation consoles earlier this week, gaining near-universal acclaim for its gripping narrative and increased scope from the previous God of War title.

God of War Ragnarok is mainly centered around the developing relationship between Kratos and Atreus as they journey to uncover the secrets behind an apocalyptic prophecy and battle new enemies like the villainous God of War Ragnarok version of Odin. Given the realistic and emotional dynamic between the two, it seems fitting that one pair of fans resembles the now-legendary father/son duo. Reddit user Bonkbonkguy recently shared an image of two people on r/GodofWarRagnarok (via Game Rant). The first is an older, bald, muscular man who bears a striking resemblance to Kratos as he looks in the two Norse-set God of War games. The second is younger (presumably a teenager) and shares a surprisingly similar face and hairstyle with Atreus. These two people also seem to have grim expressions on their faces in the image that Bonkbonkguy shared, adding to the inevitable comparisons to Kratos and Atreus as they embark on their latest somber adventure.

This God of War Streamer Doesn’t Need Cosplay To Look Like Kratos

As fate would have it, this real-life Kratos and Atreus aren’t simply a pair of random people who look a lot like God of War Ragnarok’s protagonists Kratos and Atreus. They are actually a pair of game streamers who post videos to YouTube and stream under the shared handle of SolidRev. Appropriately enough, they are also father and son just like Kratos and Atreus, and the dad deliberately shaved his head and groomed his beard in honor of God of War Ragnarok’s recent release. While the photo shared by Bonkbonkguy was initially used as a meme to mock Ragnarok’s lesser graphics on the PS4, SolidRev reacted positively to the comparison and expressed excitement for developer Sony Santa Monica’s latest third-person action epic.

Many fans have skillfully recreated God of War’s Kratos through impressive cosplays, ranging from bodybuilders doing their latest workout to WWE superstar Tommaso Ciampa, who cosplayed GoW‘s Kratos during a special event last Halloween. What makes SolidRev’s Kratos look all the more striking is the fact that it came about so naturally, with the father only having to shave his head to resemble the infamous Ghost of Sparta. His son needed even less work to look like Atreus, as he already seems to be the spitting image of the young demigod-in-training who is only now discovering his greater destiny as the son of the titular God of War.

Players who were blown away by Kratos and Atreus’s journey in God of War (2018) have been waiting anxiously for the past four years to see how their epic Norse saga concludes in God of War Ragnarok. This wait is finally over, and fans all around the world are diving back into the sweeping universe that Sony Santa Monica has built – including a father/son team that could very well serve as real-life stand-ins for Kratos and Atreus.
