God of War: Ragnarök – How To Solve All Mining Rigs Puzzles

One Favour that players will receive relatively early on in their journey in God of War: Ragnarok is “In Service of Asgard,” during which Kratos is tasked with shutting down three Mining Rigs within the realm of Svartalfheim. Naturally, the objective of this Favour sounds moderately straightforward. However, some players are struggling to complete the quest since there are a few notable obstacles along the way, including combat sequences and tricky puzzles to solve. Nevertheless, fulfilling Mimir’s request and dismantling the Mining Rigs is an excellent early-game source of XP and materials, as players will encounter several chests as they explore the machinery.

Modvitnir’s Rig is the first Mining Rig that players will arrive at during the “In Service of Asgard” Favour in God of War: Ragnarok. The objective is to make it to the top of the machinery and destroy its core. After docking, players must make their way up the scaffolding on the right to reach a grapple point. Use the Blades of Chaos to zip across the gap and then throw the Leviathan Axe at the crane to rotate its grapple point to the right. Finally, climb the chain and destroy the boiler of the first Mining Rig.

How To Complete In Service of Asgard Favor in God of War: Ragnarok

The next Mining Rig is Althjof’s Rig, which can be found on the northwestern corner of the Bay of Bounty in God of War: Ragnarok. After climbing onto the elevated platforms, use the nearby wheel to lower the lift once. Next, use the Blades of Chaos to yank the lift to the ground, enabling Kratos to get across. Next, use the blades again to ignite an explosive barrel to open the pathway leading to the upper decks. The elevation will allow players to smash through a breakable platform to reach the bottom level, where they must adjust the lift again before returning topside to modify the lift’s height for the final time. Finally, grapple across to reach and destroy the boiler for Althjof’s Rig.

Radsvinn’s Rig is the third and final Mining Rig in God of War: Ragnarok that players can find near the center of the Bay by The Watchtower. Like Modvitnir’s Rig, clearing this location is easier than Althjof’s Rig, as players only need to defeat a horde of GoW: Ragnarok enemies to safely access the boiler. Once all the mobs have been defeated, Kratos will be able to cut apart the boiler and shut down the final Mining Rig in God of War: Ragnarok.
