God of War Ragnarok combat gameplay recently revealed new moves for both weapons in the upcoming sequel, and one crafty fan has combined both mythic armaments into one.
2018’s God of War served as a fresh start for the franchise, with protagonist Kratos fighting through a new world using a new weapon. Upon release the frosty Leviathan Axe quickly became popular among gamers due to its fantastic recall mechanic, which lets players throw the deadly blade and make it fly back into Kratos’ hand at any time. This feature makes Leviathan effective at both close and long range, and the axe can even damage foes as it soars back to Kratos. Mythbusters star Adama Savage built a God of War Leviathan Axe replica early last year, but now a dedicated fan has combined the frosty axe with its burning counterparts the Blades of Chaos.
Reddit user SLUG_927 recently shared a unique God of War build that combines Leviathan and the Blades of Chaos into a single deadly weapon. The crafty fan has previously built replicas of both mythic armaments, but now an unused Leviathan Axe blade has been turned into an intimidating hybrid weapon. The axe is given a sleek black finish with red accents on the blade, creating the impression of a Leviathan Axe imbued with the fiery powers of the Blades of Chaos. The axe’s handle is even shortened to complete the combination, effectively reforging Kratos’ two most iconic tools of war into one.

Alongside the Leviathan Axe, Blades of Chaos and new hybrid weapon, SLUG_927 revealed a masterful God of War Mjolnir replica earlier this year. The iconic hammer wielded by Thor, the unstoppable God of Thunder, is glimpsed in statues throughout 2018’s God of War before being dramatically unveiled at the end of the game. God of War Ragnarok will reportedly show Kratos and Atreus go face-to-face with this thunderous Aesir god, with Mjolnir no doubt playing a key role in the battle. The replica created by SLUG_927 perfectly captures God of War’s version of the hammer, making a perfect companion for the Leviathan Axe and Blades of Chaos.
