Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire Still Hasn’t Revealed A Major Character

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire Still Hasn’t Revealed A Major Character

Even though Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire has already released a teaser trailer, two versions of its full-length trailer, and multiple posters, the sequel is still hiding at least one significant new character. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire has had a harder time stirring up hype than its predecessor, 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife. That reboot teased the prospect of the original Ghostbusters team returning, but viewers had to wait until they were in the theater before they found out whether characters like Annie Potts’ Janine or the late Harold Ramis’ Egon Spengler would be involved in the action. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire has no such luck.

Since the movie is a sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife, viewers already know that the upcoming Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire will feature most of the original gang and their replacements. There will also be a bevy of new characters played by stars like Patton Oswalt, Kumail Nanjiani, and British comic James Acaster. The trailer for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire already revealed that the movie also won’t lack returning villains, with the original movie’s Slimer, the Library Ghost, and William Atherton’s officious Walter Peck all returning in the sequel. However, despite all these revelations, one actor’s role remains a mystery.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire looks more promising than 2021’s Afterlife thanks to a new villain, better returning characters, and new cast members.

Emily Alyn Lind’s Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire Role Is A Mystery

Judah Lewis and Emily Alyn Lind sit together in a car in The Babysitter Killer Queen

Doctor Sleep supporting star Emily Alyn Lind joined the cast of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire over a year ago, but she still hasn’t been seen in any posters or trailers. It is unclear who Emily Alyn Lind will play in the Ghostbusters sequel, although her age could provide a clue. Lind is in her early 20s, meaning she may play a new love interest for Finn Wolfhard’s Trevor Spengler. However, since Trevor is already paired with Celeste O’Connor’s returning Lucky Domingo, this seems unlikely. Lind could also be playing a friend of McKenna Grace’s Phoebe, but her role has not yet been disclosed in any promotional materials.

Since Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire promises more scares than Ghostbusters: Afterlife, it is also entirely possible that Lind will play one of Frozen Empire’s villains. Before Ghostbusters: Afterlife was released, Olivia Wilde’s role as Gozer was mainly kept under wraps. However, even this prediction could be kiboshed by the fact that the trailers for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire have already revealed a plethora of villains. Lind’s mysterious absence from the movie’s advertising is particularly strange since, thanks to Gossip Girl’s reboot, she is one of the cast’s more famous new additions. Despite this, her part in the sequel remains an enigma.

Lind’s Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire Character Could Continue A Career Trend

Lind played the surprise villain in the 2021 horror/comedy sequel The Babysitter: Killer Queen, so there is a good chance that she could play another villain in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. This revelation might justify why she hasn’t been seen in any promotional materials so far since Lind playing a surprise villain would explain her absence from the Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire trailer. However, it is tough to tell whether this is the franchise’s plan since the ending of Ghostbusters: Afterlife provided unpredictable moments like Spengler’s return. As such, Emily Alyn Lind’s Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire character may be a complete surprise.
