A jaw-dropping piece of fan art gives Ghost Rider a terrifying sidekick: Kid Vengeance, complete with a flaming bicycle. Over the past 50 years, Ghost Rider’s mythos has grown and evolved, but one thing has been lacking: a kid sidekick. Now, acclaimed artist BossLogic has fixed this, creating a sidekick worthy of Johnny Blaze, right down to his flaming bicycle.

BossLogic unveiled the artwork in a post on Instagram. Using Usher’s “Burn” as background music, BossLogic prefaced the piece by invoking the Young Avengers and then introducing his contribution: Kid Vengeance. Kid Vengeance sits atop a regular bicycle, but the wheels are made of fire. Kid Vengeance is parked near what looks to be a bike ramp.

Kid Vengeance is dressed in clothing one would expect a normal ten-year old to wear, and the only thing separating him from other children is his head is on fire.

There Have Been Many Ghost Riders–But Never One That Was a Kid

Ghost Rider has been running the roads of the Marvel Universe for five decades. Although Johnny Blaze was the first Ghost Rider fans met, there have in fact been Ghost Riders for eons, stretching all the way back to prehistoric times. In the modern era alone, there have been multiple Ghost Riders, including Danny Ketch and Robbie Reyes. Fans have also met Kushala, a Spirit of Vengeance from the 1800s who doubles as her era’s Sorcerer Supreme–and that is but the tip of the iceberg. Now, artist BossLogic has asked: what if Ghost Rider got a teen sidekick?

Ghost Rider may seem to be the last Marvel hero anyone would expect to have a sidekick, let alone one that is a teenager. Yet over the past year, in the pages of his current ongoing book, Ghost Rider has acquired a partner: former SHIELD agent Talia Warroad. The two first join forces to turn back a wave of supernatural violence, and find they work well together. Talia Warroad’s presence shows that Ghost Rider can work great with others, making this the perfect time for him to acquire a teen sidekick.

The Time Has Come for Ghost Rider’s Teen Sidekick

Ghost Rider Hell Cycle

Ghost Rider acquiring a young sidekick opens up some interesting, if not brutal, story ideas. The origin of Kid Vengeance would be first and foremost among them. Fans will no doubt wonder how a child becomes a host for a Spirit of Vengeance, something that usually happens in times of extreme crisis: for instance, Johnny Blaze sold his soul to a demon in order to help save his father’s life. Did something similar happen to Kid Vengeance? The idea of a child innocently selling their soul to help a family member, and turning into a demon, is disturbing, but it keeps with Ghost Rider’s ethos.
