Genshin Impact’s Most Underrated 4-Star Characters

Genshin Impact’s Most Underrated 4-Star Characters

Genshin Impact’s 4-star characters can be fairly underrated in comparison to the popularity of 5-star heroes. While there are many 4-stars who are well-known and beloved by the community, such as the members of the National Team, others are not so deeply appreciated. This is despite having extremely relevant gameplay kits that positively influence damage output and how well teams operate on the field.

Although Bennett is considered the best 4-star character in Genshin Impact, some more underrated characters have already made their way into more advanced players’ teams, especially due to the fact of how easy it is to max out their Constellations when compared to 5-stars. At their full potential, many of them can even surpass the power of C0 5-star. With a good build and at a C6, for instance, Shikanoin Heizou can easily beat a medium-ranged C0 Wanderer or Xiao in Genshin Impact when it comes down to pure Anemo damage output.

Genshin Impact’s Heizou Is A Strong DPS Substitute For Wanderer Or Xiao

Genshin Impact’s Most Underrated 4-Star Characters

Heizou is one of Genshin Impact’s most underrated 4-star characters simply because of how strong he can be and how little of that is actually shown in his character preview sessions. His Anemo DPS can rival the damage output of some superstars like Wanderer and Xiao, despite needing an advanced Constellation. With a full C6, Heizou not only increases his attack speed but his Critical Rate. He also gets a bonus to Energy Recharge and his Elemental Burst pulls opponents in, further increasing the possibility of triggering one of Genshin Impact’s best Elemental Reactions, a Swirl.

Because he is an Anemo DPS, Heizou can be paired up with many different Elements to provoke diverse types of reactions and quickly destroy opponents. In fact, a varied team comp makes him great to melt his way through bosses, such as the Balladeer boss at level 60. By lowering its Defense stats, Heizou shows why he is one of Genshin Impact’s most underrated 4-star characters.

Yanfei Can Literally Melt Through Genshin Impact Bosses

Genshin Impact's Yanfei unleashes her Pyro-based attacks in a close-up of the action.

Similar to Heizou, Yanfei is another of Genshin Impact’s most underrated 4-star characters that can easily melt through bosses with a proper build. Her offensive power does not seem like much to start with, the proper management of her Scarlet Seals can keep her in a Pyro attack loop to constantly deal massive damage with her Charged Attack. With a C6, her Scarlet Seals can grant her up to 20% Pyro DMG Bonus. Cycling through Normal Attacks, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst to raise the number of Seals to the maximum and then consuming them with her Charged Attack is an easy rotation to maintain between character swaps.

Genshin Impact’s 3.3 Dendro reactions with Pyro, specifically Burn and Burgeon, are great ways to increase Yanfei’s general damage output, too. She has become an even more underrated 4-star Genshin Impact character since the release of Version 3.0, due to how powerful she can be when paired up with a Dendro enabler supporting her. It is also an easy task to build Yanfei for a DPS role since the stats players need to focus on primarily are Pyro Damage, Attack, and Critical Damage/Rate.

Yun Jin Is One Of Genshin Impact’s Best Supports

Genshin Impact's Yun Jin poses with her banners and polearm in the Jade Chamber.

Yun Jin is easily one of Genshin Impact’s most underrated 4-star characters due to the fact that testing her does not give players a true sense of what she can do. The Geo character’s damage output is really meant to be underwhelming since she is supposed to be a support for the team. Unlocking Yun Jin in Genshin Impact is quite beneficial seeing she can boost the whole team’s Normal ATK DMG with her Elemental Burst and can even parry attacks with her Elemental Skill. The most impressive feats she brings in as a support character, however, lie in her Constellations.

With a C1 her Skill’s CD is reduced by a whopping 18%, while C2 further boosts the team’s Normal ATK DMG by 15% for 12 seconds after using her Elemental Burst. Her C4 boosts her Defense stat by 20% for 12 seconds when she triggers a Crystallize reaction, which is not especially helpful, but her C6 is the best of them all. With it, she increases all party members’ Normal Attack Speed by 12% when she uses her Burst, making her a great ally for DPS like Ayato, Yoimiya, or even Wanderer, proving she’s one of the most underrated 4-star characters in Genshin Impact.
