Genshin Impact Version 3.2 will finally be releasing the newest Archon, Nahida, as a character banner. Nahida is the fourth Archon to be added to the game, representing the Sumeru region as the god of wisdom who is currently locked away from the rest of society and is largely forgotten by her followers. Currently, the Fatui Harbinger, Scaramouche, is attempting to usurp her position as a god, with the help of the Akademiya, leading the player into a massive boss battle that will be happening after the release of Version 3.2.
Out of the four Archons that are currently in the game, Nahida looks to have the most unique design and kit of the group, something fitting of the gods of a nation. While players in the past have criticized Genshin Impact‘s Archons for having underpowered abilities compared to those mentioned in in-game lore, Nahida seems to fix these issues, showcasing fun attack animations, an Elemental Skill that features never-before-seen mechanics, and a massive battlefield-altering Elemental Burst. Although currently it is unknown whether Nahida could be considered a powerful character, her abilities are definitely a step above the other Archons.
Genshin Impact’s Nahida Features Unique Animations & Abilities
The attack animations of Nahida showcases many technological-themed attacks, showing her bouncing on magic keycaps, and dragging and clicking for area-of-effect attacks. While the Sumeru region and Genshin Impact Version 3.0 has really stepped up the design of each character, like with the divisive 4-star Electro merchant Dori, Nahida’s design really goes above and beyond, showcasing attacks that not only encapsulate the personality of the character, but also the technological and intellectual themes of the Sumeru region. Her Elemental Skill and Burst, which involve taking photos like a camera, and the creation of a massive digital temple, also help encapsulate these themes of intelligence, wisdom, and artificial construction.
Nahida’s design is very strong due to the fact it fits the region she represents so closely. As for the Genshin Impact Archons Venti, Raiden Shogun, and Zhongli, their abilities and attack animations could come from any other region. For example, Venti’s Elemental Burst wouldn’t seem too out of place if he was a character from Liyue. Nahida’s technological abilities, on the other hand, would seem extremely out of place in any other region, showing a massive level of synergy between the design of Nahida and the very well-designed map of the Sumeru region. This is vital to making a well-designed Archon since they are supposed to represent a nation as their deity, which Nahida does the best.
As for their personalities, all the Archons have interesting character designs and motivations throughout the story, but when talking in terms of animations and abilities, Nahida is the strongest Archon that best represents her region. With awesome animations and battlefield-altering abilities, Nahida is definitely worth Wishing for in the upcoming patch. As Genshin Impact pushes into the future, hopefully, this design precedent will be kept for years to come.
