Game Of Thrones Spinoff: Aegon The Conqueror’s Fiery Victory Recreated In Stunning Art

Brilliant fan art from an upcoming Game of Thrones depicts Aegon the Conqueror’s greatest victory. Based on George R. R. Martin’s critically acclaimed A Song of Ice and Fire, the Game of Thrones franchise has quickly come to dominate the TV landscape. The original show ran from 2011 to 2019 and eventually led to the development of several spinoff shows, including a Jon Snow show, 10,000 Ships, and House of the Dragon. The latter show already aired all of season 1 and proved to be a massive success. Another show in development is a series focusing on Aegon the Conqueror.

In honor of Aegon’s remarkable conquest of the Seven Kingdoms, Reddit user ElizabethPyre released two pieces of art that depict Aegon burning the Westerosi city of Harrenhal. Should the Game of Thrones Aegon spinoff ever be developed, this scene will be the greatest of Aegon’s accomplishments. Check it out below:

The Reddit post includes art from 2023 and another piece from 2022, each depicting Aegon’s dragon, Balerion the Black Dread, burning Harrenhal to the ground. The gigantic dragon is taller than the castle itself and is surrounded by smoke and fire.

What The Aegon The Conqueror Show Could Look Like

Should the Aegon the Conqueror series ever go into full production, the show will be filled with more fire and blood than even House of the Dragon season 2 will be able to boast. As A Song of Ice and Fire reveals, Aegon’s conquest pitted him against a divided Westeros. With all Seven Kingdoms individually working to defeat the up-and-coming Valyrian invaders, the dragons rained flames over the entire realm.

Everywhere in Westeros, there are pockets of resistance against the Targaryens. Dorne poses the greatest threat against Aegon’s conquest. Through the use of guerilla tactics, the Dornish people are more capable of maintaining their independence in the fight against the Targaryens than the forces of Harrenhal. Even the Starks willingly choose to kneel under the threat of dragons — as Game of Thrones already proved.

Despite the promise of its invincibility, however, Harrenhal was a simple conquest for Aegon and his two sisters. The aspiring king approached the seemingly impenetrable towers and simply burned them with Balerion. King Harren died along with his sons, and Harrenhal has reportedly been cursed ever since. If the Aegon series gets made, the Game of Thrones spinoff will feature the burning of Harrenhal as a game-changing moment for Westeros.
