Galaxy A54 5G Vs. Galaxy A34 5G: What’s Different?

The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G are the newest models of its Galaxy A series, but what are the differences between the two smartphones? The Galaxy A series for 2023 also include the already announced Galaxy A14 4G and the Galaxy A14 5G. The 5G version is available in the United States, but there is no info on whether the 4G version will be sold in the region.

The Galaxy A54 5G and the Galaxy A34 5G, despite being different smartphones, have a number of features in common. The two phones have a design similar to the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus, with their triple rear cameras that are stacked vertically. However, while the Galaxy A54 5G has an Infinity-O display with a centered punch hole for the front-facing camera, the Galaxy A34 5G has an Infinity-U display with a U-shaped notch for the selfie camera. Like their predecessors, the new mid-rangers also offer an IP67 dust and water-resistant rating.

Samsung has made some changes to the new Galaxy A smartphones. Unlike the previous generation, where the Galaxy A53 was the bigger of the two, the A34 gets the bigger display this time around. The Galaxy A54 has a 6.4-inch screen while the Galaxy A34 packs a 6.6-inch screen. Both displays are Super AMOLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate, have an enhanced Vision Booster mode, and are brighter outdoors than their predecessors.

The chipset is another area where both phones differ, with the Galaxy A54 powered by the new Exynos 1380 announced in February. The 5nm EUV octa-core chipset has 4x Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and 4x Cortexx-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. It also has a Mali-G68 MP5 GPU. Instead of the Exynos 1380, Samsung has gone with MediaTek’s Dimensity 1080 for the Galaxy A34. The two phones have up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. They also have a MicroSD card for up to an additional 1TB.
