Frasier Reboot Unveils First Look At Bebe Neuwirth’s Lilith Who Returns After 20 Years

A new Frasier reboot marketing video offers the first look at Bebe Neuwirth’s return as Lilith Sternin. No one else from the original cast member of Frasier will be back in the Paramount+ revival as a series regular aside from Kelsey Grammer’s titular character. Peri Gilpin’s Roz Doyle will have a cameo, which will be expectedly poignant, but the return of Frasier’s ex-wife will likely set the stage for another thrilling face-off between the former Cheers lovers as they reunite on the screen after two decades.

In a new behind-the-scenes video for Paramount+’s Frasier reboot, Grammer and grown-up Freddy actor, Jack Cutmore-Scott are seen talking to Neuwirth during one of the table reads for the new show. Watch the full clip from Paramount Plus below:

The shot of Neuwirth is brief, but it’s more than enough to be excited about her return. It will be particularly interesting what her dynamic is with grown-up Freddy, who has changed quite a bit since the original Frasier show.

What To Expect From Lilith In The Frasier Reboot

In March 2022, it was confirmed that Neuwirth was reprising her role as Lilith in the Paramount+ reboot. This somehow eased fans’ concerns about David Hyde Pierce and Jane Leeves’ decision to turn down the project. It’s unclear what episode Lilith will return, but a brief tease of her appearance reveals that she will be back during Freddy’s birthday. This makes sense, however, considering that she primarily raised the young Crane when she and her husband separated towards the end of Cheers. Her involvement is supposed to be at a guest capacity only, however, which means that she will only be in one episode.

Despite Lilith’s limited appearance, her reunion with Frasier is definitely going to be one of the key highlights of the Frasier reboot. In any case, she only really appeared a couple of times a year at most in the original show. Still, the project was able to make the most out of it by giving her and Frasier a great narrative. Whether their dynamic has changed in the past 20 years is currently unknown. It’s curious, however, if the Paramount+ show will revisit the idea of them getting back together, especially since Frasier is confirmed to not be married in the new series.

Frasier’s more relaxed appearance hints that he has mellowed down over the years. Depending on her experiences, Lilith may have also been softened by her age and experience. Assuming that this is the case for both of them, it’s curious how their dynamic will be in the Frasier reboot. The addition of Freddy in the mix will add something new to their relationship, especially given his falling out with his father.
