Frasier Reboot Set Video Confirms The Return Of Cheers’ Lilith

Frasier Reboot Set Video Confirms The Return Of Cheers’ Lilith

A new Frasier reboot set video confirms the return of Cheers‘ fan-favorite character, Lilith. Like Kelsey Grammer’s snooty psychiatrist, Lilith was also first introduced in the Boston-set sitcom. After Frasier dated Diane, he eventually moved on with Lilith; they got married and had their son, Freddy, but eventually divorced.

Shared by Paramount+’s official Instagram account is a fresh look at the set of the Frasier reboot, which includes a shot of Bebe Neuwirth’s trailer, effectively confirming that Lilith will appear in the revival.

As previously confirmed, the Frasier reboot will be set in Boston. The story will see the titular character tie up some loose ends. Frasier and Freddy’s relationship will be central to the narrative, the same way the old show centered on Martin Crane and his son’s dynamic. Considering all this, it somehow makes sense that Lilith will be involved.

What Lilith’s Role Will Be In The Frasier Reboot

Even after Cheers, the pair’s relationship continued to evolve in the original Frasier show. Frasier and Lilith maintained contact because of Freddy, but despite their bickering, they remained supportive of each other. It’s worth noting, however, that the audio used in the aforementioned reboot set clip was lifted from the Frasier episode where Lilith made her first appearance in the Seattle-based spin-off, causing the radiotherapist to freak out on air.

It’s curious if Lilith is the character Kelsey Grammer was referring to when he teased about the revival featuring some surprise guests. The actor/producer has confirmed that some original Frasier characters will appear in the reboot. While seeing Lilith is a treat, she wasn’t exactly a core cast member of the Cheers spin-off. At best, she was a regular guest star who popped in every few seasons.

Decades have passed since Lilith was seen with her ex-husband, so it will be interesting to see how their dynamic has evolved (if it did). Now that Freddy is a grown adult, he could also be a point of reference as to how his parents’ often tumultuous relationship impacted him growing up. It’s curious if the choice of audio in the Paramount+ set video is indicative of the role that Lilith will play in the Frasier revival because if it does, expect more bickering between the former couple moving forward.
