Foundation Season 3 Loses Original Showrunner As It Gears Up To Resume Production

Foundation Season 3 Loses Original Showrunner As It Gears Up To Resume Production

Foundation has lost its showrunner midway through season 3. The Apple TV+ science fiction show is based on the Isaac Asimov stories of the same name, following the centuries-long history of the titular rebel group. The ensemble cast of the show includes Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Llobell, Leah Harvey, Laura Birn, Terrence Mann, and Cassian Bilton. Production is currently gearing up for the second half of season 3, with actor Troy Kotsur joining the cast as shooting is set to resume on March 6.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, co-creator David S. Goyer has stepped down from his position as showrunner, reportedly due to a conflict with executive producers about the budget for Foundation season 3. Goyer will remain on board as a writer, though he will be working in Los Angeles rather than staying on set in Prague. Taking his place will be executive producer Bill Bost, who is set to oversee the production until season 3 wraps.
