Forza Horizon 5 Sandstorm Teleports Player Into Skyrim Meme

A player of Forza Horizon 5 has created a gaming crossover meme for the ages by incorporating the iconic Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim introduction within the racing simulator. The newly-launched Forza Horizon 5 hasn’t yet released for the majority of players, but is set to come to Xbox Game Pass later this week.

Forza Horizon 5 has already been heralded as one of the best games in the series to date, improving on the realistic graphics and huge open-world of Forza Horizon 4. Early impressions from both critics and fans are positive, and despite not having yet launched in full, Forza Horizon 5 has already been enjoying high player counts. Those who purchased the Premium Edition or Premium Add-ons Bundle on Xbox or PC were granted early access to the game on November 5, ahead of the game’s full release date. The game has seen unprecedented success despite only being available in early access, with almost one million players enjoying Forza Horizon 5 ahead of launch.

Redditor _Xyreo_ has taken over the r/games subreddit with their hilarious Forza Horizon 5 and Skyrim mash-up video. The clever clip shows the player driving into a Forza sandstorm, only to emerge as the hero of Skyrim, awakening on the cart as seen in the famous game intro. The Skyrim intro looks significantly more orange than in the original release, made to appear as though part of the Forza sandstorm. _Xyreo_’s video has been a hit with players of both games, going on to amass over 100,000 views and 66,000 upvotes at the time of writing.

Forza Horizon 5 storms have crossed the limits from gaming

The opening scene of Skyrim is one of the most recognizable in gaming, and has been the source of countless memes over the years, however, a Forza Horizon 5 crossover was probably not one fans were expecting. Hopes have been high for the latest Forza game since it was first revealed earlier this year, but the game has gone on to exceed players’ expectations, perhaps going some way in explaining why the meme has received the attention it has. The Playground Games hit is currently one of the highest-rated releases of the year so far, standing as Metacritic’s highest-rated brand new game of 2021, excluding rereleases.

While lots of driving fans have already had the chance to experience what the game’s Mexico has to offer – including Forza Horizon 5‘s many gaming Easter eggs – there are still lots of people awaiting its Xbox Game Pass release. Those picking up the base version of the game on PC or Xbox, or those who are Xbox Game Pass subscribers, will be able to get their hands on the new game from its full release date, November 9. Players can preload the game via Xbox Game Pass now, ahead of its launch.
