Forza Horizon 5 Player Drifts From Day To Night Instantly

A Forza Horizon 5 player has shared game footage of day instantly turning into night as they were drifting in the game. The latest Forza is one of the highest-rated games of 2021 on review aggregator site Metacritic, but like most titles, it isn’t free from strange bugs, glitches, and player-discovered problems.

Forza Horizon 5 has enjoyed a highly successful launch period following its November release, garnering praise from critics and fans alike. The latest installment in the Horizon series takes advantage of new-generation hardware with ray-traced audio, impressive graphics, and hyper-realistic landscapes. Bugs and glitches have been a rarity for players, though many PC players did encounter a number of crashes when the game first released. One of the most prominent bugs players have been taking advantage of is the Forza Horizon 5 Wheelspin glitch, though a recent patch has aimed to keep cheating to a minimum.

Forza Horizon 5 fan and Redditor xCONNORRHEAx has highlighted one of the game’s stranger bugs in a short clip, showing a dramatic shift from day to night during a Drift Zone challenge. The challenges, found throughout Forza‘s Mexico, task players with scoring high drift scores across a particular stretch of road. In the Redditor’s video, they’re seen successfully putting the challenge through its paces only to have their daytime drive suddenly go dark with night setting in unexpectedly. While the glitch didn’t impact the user’s ability to continue racking up points, it’s definitely not a feature of the game.

Day – night transitions need a bit of work, I think. from forza

The Reddit post has seen a lot of interest from other Forza Horizon 5 players, with many commenting on having experienced similar bugged day-to-night transitions in their own games. Like previous Forza games, players can drive through the world with a realistic day-night cycle, intended to provide an immersive experience. The Forza Horizon 5 bug encountered by the player seems to do the exact opposite, breaking immersion quickly despite not hampering the Drift Zone challenge.

As a newly-released game, developer Playground Games is still working to fix bugs that might be tarnishing players’ experiences, and is asking for users to submit their glitches in order for them to be addressed. While it’s not known when new fixes might roll out, known issues are still being registered for investigation as of November 19. It’s likely that players can expect a new Forza Horizon 5 game bug patch before the end of the year, though whether or not it will address issues with the day-to-night cycle remains to be seen.
