Forza Horizon 5: How to Complete the Light the Beacon Challenge

Forza Horizon 5: How to Complete the Light the Beacon Challenge

In Forza Horizon 5, players will want to complete the “Light the Beacon” challenge in conjunction with the Lunar New Year to earn points and a new chat message. This mission is one of the weekly quests introduced this Winter season, which often require players to capture photos of unique landmarks, meet speed goals, and, occasionally, destroy property. For the Winter season, players will be asked to “Light the Beacon,” which requires them to light Chinese lanterns scattered throughout the Western side of the Forza Horizon 5 map in the Baja region.

To find the lanterns in Forza Horizon 5, players should begin at the Horizon Baja Outpost and travel toward Dunas Blancas, a sandy area to the southwest. Players can spot the Chinese lanterns floating above the ground and scattered all over the sand dunes. Many of the lanterns are on top of the sand dunes, and a sizable cluster of them will be found floating over a valley. Dunas Blancas is the only location to find the floating lanterns, but there are many of them.

Successfully completing “Light the Beacon” requires players to drive into and knock down 50 floating lanterns. The lanterns will be lit up at night in Forza Horizon 5, which will make them easier to spot than during the day, when the white lanterns may blend into the sandy landscape. While there are plenty of lanterns to find, players should be wary of other players also trying to complete this challenge at the same time. Because of the rough terrain and sandy dunes, players will want to complete this task using an off-road vehicle.

Some of the best off-road vehicle options for completing the “Light the Beacon” challenge in Forza Horizon 5 include the 2016 Jeep Trailcat, 1993 Toyota #1 T100 Baja Truck, 1986 Hoonigan Ford RS200 Evolution, and 2020 Ford #2069 Ford Bronco R. The Jeep Trailcat is purchasable at the Autoshow for 75,000 Credits, or it can be acquired by completing the “Born to Win” mission, which requires players to win every Cross Country event. The 1993 Toyota truck is a barn find in Forza Horizon 5, while the Hoonigan Ford is available at the Autoshow for 500,000 Credits. Finally, the Ford Bronco is included in the purchasable Welcome Pack, or it can be purchased for 250,000 Credits from the Autoshow.

Players can also use this opportunity in Dunas Blancas to complete the “Another One Lights the Dust” mission, which requires players to drive into 25 lanterns while driving either a 2014 Toyota AT38 or the 2016 Toyota AT37. These cars are difficult to find and are exclusive to series three, but they can be earned as rewards for completing enough quests in a particular season in the game. Completing this mission will earn players 50 Accolade points in Forza Horizon 5 and Camo Utility Epic Trousers, which can be used to customize their avatar.

Players who successfully complete the Winter season Lunar New Year challenge “Light the Beacon” will earn three playlist points and obtain an “Eat My Dust” Forza LINK message. Points can be redeemed for in-game items, and the Forza LINK message can be used to communicate with other players in quick chat.
