Forza Horizon 5 Crashes, Steering Wheel Issues Continue

Known hiccups related to PC crashing, steering wheel, and connection issues will be fixed in an upcoming Forza Horizon 5 patch that’s scheduled to go live sometime this week. Developer Playground’s latest entry in the racing franchise got off to a strong start, with reviewers and players alike singing the team’s praises. However, speed bumps manifested in the form of Forza Horizon 5’s PC crashing errors and unreliable steering wheel support.

On November 10, days after the launch of Forza Horizon 5′, Playground publicly addressed the aforementioned troubles and promised it had begun work on a hotfix. The studio planned to deploy the patch in question late last week, hoping to quickly resolve the crashing, connection, and steering wheel support problems that plagued many a player. Unfortunately, the wait for such a resolution will continue for a little while longer, Playground recently confirmed.

A recent Twitter post from Forza Support (via PC Gamer) revealed that issues with the hotfix forced Playground to delay the new Forza Horizon 5 patch. With testing currently underway, there’s no word on when exactly the update will be ready for primetime; however, the message did say it should arrive sometime this week. When it does, players can, specifically, expect the crashing, connection, and steering wheel support troubles to no longer pose a problem.

The otherwise stellar Forza Horizon 5 may still suffer from a fair few hiccups but at least users can rest assured the lingering issues won’t persist for too much longer. Since Playground has yet to share a specific date for the patch, though, PC Gamer notes there does exist a temporary workaround for those unable to connect their steering wheel controller. This fix, reportedly, works wonders and allows for force feedback.

Announced this past summer during Xbox’s and Bethesda Softworks’ joint E3 2021 press conference, Forza Horizon 5 currently sits comfortably on many players’ shortlist for Game of the Year. The game allows racing fans to blast their way across a stunning Mexico map, complete with 11 different biomes that range from desert and swamp terrain to jungles and canyons. Forza Horizon 5’s dynamic weather effects amplify the experience like never before as well, thanks to the addition of dust and tropical storms. Needless to say, the crew at Playground Games has definitely set the bar for this generation of racing games.

Forza Horizon 5 is available to play now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
