Fortnite Shared Quest XP Buff Confirmed After Datamine Leak

Fortnite is in its eighth season, and it is still receiving tweaks, including a recent buff to quest XP that was confirmed following a datamine. Given Fortnite’s worldwide popularity, gamers are always hungry for more information on what’s to come in the game. After another recent leak suggested the return of mechs in Fortnite, dataminers have been hard at work trying to uncover more secrets.

Quests have always been part of Fortnite, but the rewards for doing them have varied. Season 8 was off to a bit of a rough start, with Party Quests offering no XP for those looking to do them more than once. Every Fortnite NPC has five Party Quests to offer players, and since everyone in a squad earns the XP for completing them no matter which member of the squad actually does, there’s much incentive for players to keep doing them, at least once each. For players looking to grind levels quickly, not having repeatable Part Quests to return to presented a major obstacle. Many players want to know the fastest way to level up in Fortnite, and having more options is always good.

A new report from GameSpot cites some recent datamines claiming that quest XP is getting a boost in the game’s latest patch. The boost is substantial, with quests of different rarities awarding up to two or three thousand more experience than they currently do. This will likely serve to make repeatable quests a much more attractive option for players looking to gain levels in not much time. After the datamined info came out, Epic Games was quick to confirm it on the Fortnite Status Twitter account, so it’s clear that this change truly is happening in-game. Season 8 of Fortnite brought much new content to the table, and players have much to explore as they find the most efficient ways to level up.

Fortnite’s popularity has made its players hungry for more content, always looking to the horizon to see what’s next. Dataminers are happy to provide, combing through the game’s files to figure out what Epic Games has planned for the future. Leaks run the gamut of veracity, and so it is important to take each one with its own grain of salt. But, many leaks have come true, including the leak of Season 7’s ending event title and various skins. So, while it might not always be wise to take leaks at face value, they’re not to be dismissed outright either. Everything in a game can mean something, even a piece of art hinting at the return of Tilted Towers.

Season 8 rolls on, now with more incentive for players to complete repeatable quests—the second boost to quest XP in a week. Epic Games seems to be paying attention to what its players want. Here’s hoping it continues to deliver.

Fortnite is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
