Fortnite: How to Request an Airstrike

Fortnite: How to Request an Airstrike

Requesting an Airstrike is required for a new seasonal challenge in Fortnite. Those looking to level up their Battle Pass know the fastest way to do it is by completing challenges. Every week, the map gets some new changes with a handful of challenges to go along with it. Those looking to reach tier 100 this season and unlock the Doctor Strange skin will benefit from clearing these out as quickly as possible. For this Week 8 challenge, players will need to request an airstrike and get it to land directly on a tank. It’s pretty tough to clear if the player doesn’t know where to look.

For this Fortnite challenge, the player will first need to find a tank location on the map. They have the chance to appear at Command Cavern, Rocky Reels, The Fortress, Tilted Towers, the Daily Bugle, and Coney Crossroads. Of course, other players will have the same idea and will likely land in these locations to secure themselves a tank. Be incredibly careful when exploring these Named Locations. It’s recommended to approach Rocky Reels to grab the tank since it’s away from all the other Named Locations. After obtaining the tank, it’s now time to drop an Airstrike on it.

To request an Airstrike in Fortnite, the player will need to locate this legendary item first. There is no guarantee that players will be able to find it since it’s one of the many random floor loot for players to find. Airstrikes can also appear inside supply drops or inside treasure chests. To increase the chances of finding it, head over to either Tilted Towers or the Daily Bugle. These are big locations with tons of hidden chests around them. Like the other legendary weapons in the game, the airstrike will glow a bright Gold color.

Using An Airstrike in Fortnite

Fortnite: How to Request an Airstrike

Each Airstrike in Fortnite will have two missiles available for launch, giving players two different chances to complete this challenge. It’s highly recommended to take the tank to a wide-open area without any other structures. It’s possible for the Airstrike to land on a build before impacting with the tank, preventing the challenge from being completed. Go out into the open where there are no buildings and aim the Airstrike directly at the tank. The Airstrike acts like many of the other throwable items in the game.

The reticle will appear on the ground where the Airstrike will land. Players will know they did it correctly when red smoke starts to appear. Quickly back away to avoid being damaged by the explosion. Doing this will clear the challenge, rewarding players with 20,000 XP towards their Fortnite season 2 Battle Pass.

Fortnite is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
