This new Fortnite chapter is a whole vibe, no pun intended, and definitely lives up to its name. With chapter 3’s theme titled “Vibin’,” players can expect new map locations and never-before-seen features that will get them excited.

As always, there are new weapons, new landing spots, and even brand new methods to getting special loot. From the glowing pastel colors to the new amusement park, players have a lot to be stoked about with this new chapter. What are the most unique, intriguing, and important brand-new elements in this installment of Fortnite?

New Skins

Fortnite: 9 New Features Players Need To Know About

The new and updated Battle Passes always provide tempting goodies, but this one for chapter 3, in particular, got fans especially excited. From Star Wars skins like Darth Vader to action hero Indiana Jones, it’s clear that Fortnite is bringing the big guns to entice players into getting their game on.

Additionally, the Battle Pass comes with a variety of other incentives, like Epic original characters and even an action-figure-style character alongside specific accessories players have the ability to unlock the more they play. Between the more well-known heroes and villains and the new characters players have a chance to learn more about, fans are definitely excited to dive deeper.

New Weapons

New Fortnite weapons, including the Two-Shot Shotgun

Though some of the best and most beloved Fortnite weapons have been put back in the vault, like the Drum Shotgun, new ones are making an appearance and taking their place. The Hammer Assault Rifle, for instance, has a similar shooting speed to an SMG and can perform well at both short-range and long-range.

As far as rifles go, the Designated Marksman Rifle, also known as the DMR, has a sniper scope to help players shoot long-range with deadly accuracy. Lastly, the Two-Shot Shotgun is a brand new weapon that takes a while to reload, but it can shoot out two high-impact bursts at a time, which can be deadly for enemies that are within close proximity.

A Whole New Look

A glimpse at the new Fortnite map locations, showing the new rollercoaster and colorful graffiti vibe

While most of the map contains the same spots from the last chapter, there are two new massive map locations that most definitely bring all the good vibes. Both new spots are full of colorful hues of pinks, blues, and purples, with one being more calming and the other being more vibrant and fun.

Reality Falls plays to every nature lover’s dream by featuring beautiful and otherworldly scenery. On the other hand, Rave Cave brings a more exciting aspect to the map by providing dance floors for parties and even a whole rollercoaster for more thrilling and exhilarating fun.

New Map Location Of Reality Falls

Though the new chapter has only been live for a few days, many fans can agree that this map has some of the best Fortnite locations so far. Reality Falls replaced Camp Cuddle but is equipped with beautiful scenery that players can’t get enough of.

Reality Falls features a giant Reality Tree that illuminates pastel colors and good energy, with a mix of calming waterfalls and loot-filled caves. As a whole, the pastel-hued landing spot looks like something out of Avatar and it makes players feel serene just by landing there.

New Ways To Get Loot

In addition to the bouncy slurp mushrooms players can bounce on to acquire additional shield, players have recently discovered a new and more interesting way to gather some of the best loot. Much like the tents, players can plant Reality Seeds and claim their own special-looking plant.

This unique and beautiful plant gradually grows over time and sprouts its own saplings, as well as tiny shield mushrooms. Once it’s fully developed and cared for by plucking weeds from around the plant, players can pick the fruit and grab the plentiful loot that the fruit releases.

New Map Location Of Rave Cave

The former command center turned amusement park brings all the good vibes as players celebrate the defeat of the Imagined Order. With vivid spray-painted colors, glow sticks, and a booming dance floor, players can depend on the Rave Cave for a fun time that mimics a good nightclub scene.

In addition to the graffiti-splattered walls and dim hideaways, the spot also features the Screwballer rollercoaster that players can actually ride at high speeds. From the hype music to the vividly colorful scenery, players are obsessed with this new spot, as the area is quite large and full of possibilities.

New Means Of Transportation

Similar to the gliding spheres viewers see in the recent Jurassic World movies, the plastic sphere Ballers are back and allow players to not only ride on the Screwballer rollercoaster, but to take the gadget off the tracks, too. The hamster-inspired ball can take players anywhere on the map and can even offer some additional protection, but there is a catch, of course.

The balls are powered by a certain percentage of energy and last a good while, but it’s not guaranteed they will last players throughout a whole game on just one charge. While they are a fun addition to the game, they can only be helpful for so long before the charge runs out.

Players Can Now Ride Animals

While in the past a wolf or wild boar running toward players would have been previously perceived as intimidating, there’s now an option in the game to ride larger animals. Although it’s still possible for the animals to injure players, fans are encouraged to be strategic about claiming an animal while it is off guard.

Players can ride these animals all over the map and can even operate their weaponry while riding the wolf or boar. Once claimed, the animal will remain in possession of the player until danger presents itself and it inevitably flees.

A More Ruthless Storm

Now more than ever, players are encouraged to stay out of the storm, and the new chapter makes sure of that. One of the worst habits Fortnite players have is getting so caught up in defeating enemies that they forget the storm is nearing, but the storm’s damage is now at an all-time high.

“Storm Sickness” is what many fans refer to as the rapid decline in health once caught in the storm, and now the sickness can take a hold of players and decrease their health even faster. Though the object of the game is to survive against other players, the storm might even prove itself as the most deadly force now.
