A banner day is coming for Batman, and his pals Superman and Wonder Woman are out to make it the best day possible for him. DC’s latest batch of solicitations reveals Diana’s latest adventure, which is a new spin on one of the most famous stories featuring the Man of Steel.
With 2023 now in the rearview, fans are looking to the future of the DC Universe it the publisher’s latest solicitations. There’s going to be a lot of exciting developments as spring kicks into high gear. In Wonder Woman’s corner of the DCU, Diana is teaming up with Superman for an unexpected adventure. In the vein of the story “For The Man Who Has Everything”, Wonder Woman #7 sees Diana and Clark going on an adventure to outer space for one special reason: To get Batman a birthday present. Superman and Wonder Woman are seen traveling through space on a variant by Guillem March, and they’re also side-by-side on the issue’s standard cover by Daniel Sampere.

Wonder Woman and Superman Are Getting Batman The Best Present Ever
DC fans no doubt remember Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ story “For the Man Who Has Everything”, a story that appeared in Superman Annual #11. The story centered around Wonder Woman, Batman, and Robin journeying to the Fortress of Solitude to celebrate Superman’s birthday. Unfortunately, Superman was under the control of Mongul’s Black Mercy, a plant that rendered Clark catatonic as his consciousness was trapped in a fantasy world where Krypton never exploded. The story is regarded as a classic and was even adapted into an episode of Justice League Unlimited, an episode that earned Alan Moore’s approval.
This upcoming issue wouldn’t be the first time that the current Wonder Woman series touched on elements from the iconic story. In Wonder Woman #4’s backup issue, a story set in the future saw Trinity, Wonder Woman’s daughter fall under the influence of the Black Mercy, the same plant that trapped Superman. However, the plot summary for Wonder Woman #7 seems to imply a more spiritual sequel to “For the Man Who Has Everything”. The real question is what are Wonder Woman and Superman planning to get Batman for his birthday, and why go to space of all places to get it?
Superman and Wonder Woman are Going All Out to Celebrate Batman’s Birthday
If anyone fits the definition of a man who has anything, it’s Batman. Between an expansive family, dozens of close allies and access to the greatest toys in the DC Universe, what could he possibly want? Probably nothing on Earth, but maybe there’s something in the furthest reaches of space that Wonder Woman and Superman believe would catch their friend’s eye. Could it be a rare meteorite or some kind of relic from another world? The sky’s the limit when picking a present from outer space. Whatever they decide, Superman and Wonder Woman are no doubt going to do their best to make their friend’s birthday a day to remember.
