2023 is coming to a close and thanks to DC Comics’ December solicitations, fans are getting a peek at what the publisher has planned for the most festive month of the year. DC’s Titans-centric crossover “Beast World” continues to rock the DCU with its stunning transformations of heroes and villains. A new tie-in one-shot, Titans: Beast World Tour: Central City #1 showcases the Flash Family’s attempts to stay alive during the epic, hair-raising event. The Flash’s old enemy Godspeed returns in two variant covers by Cully Hamner and Taurin Clarke, both of which reveal the evil speedster’s twisted wasp-like form.

Flash’s Rival Godspeed Returns as a Giant Wasp Creature
It won’t be long before the DC Universe is turned on its head during the upcoming “Beast World” crossover. Spinning out of Titans, a terrifying alien known as the Necrostar is coming to terrorize the Earth, and the only way to stop it is by Beast Boy transforming into a Starro the Conqueror-like monster. But in the process, Garfield will lose himself and send out hundreds of spores that transform the citizens of the DC Universe into animal hybrid creatures. Good guys and bad guys alike run wild as the Earth becomes home to a terrifying new animal kingdom.
August Heart, aka Godspeed, was already one of the more dangerous speedsters in the DC Universe. His speed rivaled Barry Allen’s, but he held none of the same morals or values Flash did and often killed criminals that he came across. A speedster like August is always bad news for the speedsters. But now, Godspeed has become even worse with his new wasp form. While there aren’t any pages of him in action just yet, it’s not hard to imagine the damage an evil speedster can do with a body like that. With Godspeed’s multiple limbs and huge stinger, the Flash Family is going to have a hell of a problem when “Beast World” arrives.
Godspeed Will be the Worst Hybrid in “Beast World”
Though “Beast World” hasn’t arrived just yet, fans have seen plenty of animal hybrids such as Batman’s wolf form or Black Adam’s lion monstrosity. While these are all terrifying in their own right, Godspeed becoming a wasp creature is a much more sinister threat. August can reach Flash-level speeds and is willing to kill anyone he feels ought to die. A giant wasp that can travel faster than the speed of light should send a chill down the spine of those with apiphobia everywhere. Hopefully, Flash and his family can squash the dangerous threat the new and improved Godspeed presents.
