Flash’s Ability to Create “Light Speed Bullets” Is Still His Ultimate Offensive Power

Flash’s Ability to Create “Light Speed Bullets” Is Still His Ultimate Offensive Power

It’s long since been proven that the Flash is one of DC’s most versatile characters. With a unique connection to the Speed Force and a lifetime of superheroic experience, there’s very little that Wally West can’t do as the Fastest Man Alive. With his incredible powers, the Scarlet Speedster has little need for weapons, but it’s those same powers that make the Flash more dangerous than any man-made gun.

JLA: Scary Monsters #4 by Chris Claremont and Joshua Hood pits the Justice League against a host of horrific eldritch beasts. As the team battles on, the Flash uses his powers to hurl rocks at the monsters with the projectiles moving at close to light-speed.

It’s even stated that “Flash himself moves in such a blur that he unleashes thousands of these incendiary ‘rounds’ every second!” And while these monsters survive the heat, Wally’s actions remind fans that, with such firepower at his command, the Flash is one of the most dangerous men alive.

The Flash Is More Dangerous Than Many Realize

Comic book panel: the Flash speaks to some monsters before fighting them.

Although the Flash rarely implements this deadly move these days, it’s not hard to understand why he’d be hesitant to let the projectiles fly. Essentially turning himself into a human Gatling gun with light-speed rounds, there are only a few of his enemies that could actually survive such an onslaught. The Flash is undoubtedly one of DC’s most powerful characters, but the same can’t be said for many of his enemies — and there’s no way villains like Captain Cold or the Turtle would survive an onslaught like this.

The offensive capabilities of Flash’s speed aren’t always on display, as most of the heroes in the Flash Family would rather use their powers to save people as opposed to fighting them. But a maneuver like this one demonstrates that the Flash can use any environment to his advantage thanks to his unfathomable speed. Alongside the Flash’s new reality-shifting powers and classic offensive moves — like his Infinite Mass Punch — it’s clear that Wally’s human railgun impression makes him more dangerous than even he would like to admit.

Wally West Could Break the World with the Flash’s Specialized Powers

Contrary to popular belief, the Flash can do far more than simply run fast. Aside from breaking the laws of physics on a regular basis, Wally West and DC’s other speedsters can clearly use their powers for unparalleled levels of destruction — if they feel so inclined. With that in mind, West’s enemies should be thankful that he rarely uses this dangerous environmental ability – otherwise, the Flash would need plenty of new Rogues to keep him busy.
