Alex Rider season 3 will be the last, with new images and a release date set for the show’s final episodes. Based on the novels of the same name by Anthony Horowitz, the show begins as the eponymous character (played by Otto Farrant) gets recruited by a subdivision of MI6 as a teenage spy to infiltrate places that are off-limits to others. Developed for TV by Guy Burt, season 1 debuted on Prime Video, while the second installment moved to Prime Video’s affiliated streamer, Amazon Freevee, which was previously known as IMDb TV.
Now, more than two years after the show’s last episodes, Amazon Freevee confirmed that Alex Rider season 3 will be the show’s last. The final installment of the spy drama, consisting of eight episodes, will all debut on April 5 on Amazon Freevee in the UK, U.S., and Germany.
In a statement, included below, franchise author Horowitz, thanked the audience for their support during the show’s first two seasons and confirmed that the concluding chapter of Alex’s story will focus on Scorpia. Along with the announcement, Freevee unveiled photos of Alex Rider season 3. Those can be viewed above:

What To Expect From Alex Rider Season 3
The forthcoming season is adapted from the fifth Alex Rider novel, Scorpia. It sets the titular spy on the path of fighting his greatest enemy, which is the elusive criminal network known as Scorpia. The criminal cabal is under new leadership, and it plans to extort the British Government using a devastating new super-weapon which is referred to as the Invisible Sword.
Alex is free of The Department in season 3, but he has the support of his closest friends: Tom (played by Brenock O’Connor) and Kyra (Marli Siu). The trio begins a personal mission to destroy Scorpia once and for all. But in a twist, Alex’s connections to The Department may prove to be murkier than he thought. The returning season 3 actors also include Vicky McClure as Mrs. Jones, Stephen Dillane as Alan Blunt, and Ronkẹ Adékọluẹ́jọ́ as Jack Starbright.

From character additions to updating the technology, how much does the Amazon Prime series change from the original Alex Rider book series?
In terms of new additions to the show and the characters they’ll play, Sofia Helin will appear as Julia Rothman, who is an antagonist in the novels. Gen V alum Shelley Conn will play Laura Kellner, and Kevin McNally and Jason Wong portray Max Grendel and Nile, respectively, both of whom are villainous in the Alex Rider books. Although the final episodes will be disappointing to the audience, it’s signing off with what promises to be an impactful storyline.
