Fire Emblem: Three Hopes – Petra Character Guide (Abilities, Arts, & Gear)

In Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, Petra Macneary is a playable character affiliated with the Adrestian Empire. Her starting class is Myrmidon, and she begins the game with an Iron Sword. To recruit her, players will need to become allies with Petra after choosing the Black Eagle house. Players will discover that her preferred class is a Thief, and she has interests in hunting, studying, and hide tanning. Visually, Petra is a young girl with long braided purple hair. Players should note that she dislikes mathematics, idleness, and discrimination and likes swimming in the ocean, sunshine, climbing trees, family, and her homeland in the story of Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.

Petra has three unique abilities that players can utilize for combat. Windstorm is an action that will slightly increase Petra’s evasion distance. Players will want to use this ability to dodge and inflict minor wind damage to her opponents. Petra’s support ability is Hunter’s Boon, which restores the Awakening Gauge with each critical hit. Finally, Petra’s tactical ability is Outland Technique. When Petra attacks, this ability will increase the damage dealt to enemies by 30%. Additionally, her class ability is Axe Buster, which allows her a boosted advantage against enemies wielding axes. The boost is significant, as this increases the damage dealt to them by 80%.

Because Petra begins the game with an Iron Sword and with the starting class Myrmidon, it is best for players to prioritize her swords. Players will want to focus on weapons that can deal critical hits to maximize the potential in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes of her ability Hunter’s Boon. Because of her ability Windstorm, Petra can deal Wind damage, which is atypical of members of the Myrmidon class. Her base character stats have lower strength and movement, so players may want to equip her with the appropriate gear to offset these weaknesses.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes: Petra’s Arts

In addition to her abilities, Petra also has unique Arts. Combat Arts are special attacks that players use during their own phase. The Arts may increase the unit’s combat stats as well as cause other in-game effects. Of note, Combat Arts cannot trigger follow-up attacks, and they are not linked with specific weapons. In order to learn Combat Arts in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, players will need to increase their rank in various classes. Players will be able to equip two Arts and four abilities.

Petra has the fewest Arts in the classes Pegasus Knight, Brigand, and Monk with only one option at the one, two, and three-star rankings for each class. For Mercenary, Cavalier, and Armored Knight, Petra has four total options with two options at her two-star rank for each class. Petra also has four options for the classes Priest and Mage with two options at her one-star rank. Petra has four Arts for the Thief class, with two options at the three-star rank. Finally, the Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes character Petra has the most Arts in the Archer class with two options at each star rank for a total of six Arts.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is now available for the Nintendo Switch.
