Final Robin Hood Trailer Earns Anticipation

The final full-length trailer for Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood has been officially released and it is truly epic.  The teaser trailer and international trailer for the retelling of the story of the prince of thieves left viewers with mixed reactions and a lot of fair comparisons to Gladiator, the previous period piece epic that the pairing of Scott and star Russell Crowe worked together on.

While I was cautious and somewhat concerned about their take on Robin Hood from what we’ve seen before and while I certainly saw the close similarities in style and characters between Robin Hood and Gladiator, this new trailer has completely sold me as a must-see film of this summer.

To give you a hint; This Robin Hood trailer presents the film as a much larger scale epic with more story and character moments than anything you’ve seen before for this movie. Check it out to see for yourself:

The trailer provides plenty of story elements and a lot more of the supporting characters including Mark Strong’s Sir Godfrey and Cate Blanchett’s Maid Marian. We’re also presented with several scenes of Oscar Isaac’s Prince John and lots of arrow action, which Robin Hood is all about.

The story of Robin Hood is always ripe for theatrical adaptations and this one has a powerful cast and crew behind it. Needless to say, I can now recommend this movie to everyone and will be checking it out when it opens. This trailer certainly helps Robin Hood solidify its position in Screen Rant’s most anticipated films of 2010.

Robin Hood stars Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Matthew Macfadyen, Mark Strong, Kevin Durand, Danny Huston, William Hurt and Max von Sydow. It opens early this summer on May 14th, 2010.
