Final Fantasy VII Remake: Which Character Are You Based On Your Zodiac Sign?

Final Fantasy VII Remake: Which Character Are You Based On Your Zodiac Sign?

Final Fantasy VII Remake was one of the biggest games of 2020 and the Yuffie DLC for PS5 expanded one of its smaller side characters in a way that added depth and value not in the original story. The reimagining of Final Fantasy VII allowed the game to give greater depth and gravitas to its many side characters, making them a more integral part of the story.

There are tons of characters to choose from, especially with many getting more spotlight in Remake. Final Fantasy fans would’ve never thought Jessie would compete with Aerith for their favorite, but it’s happening. Luckily the zodiac signs map onto these characters and can help players know which they are most like.

Aries – Barret Wallace

Final Fantasy VII Remake: Which Character Are You Based On Your Zodiac Sign?

Aries are leaders, and despite Cloud being the protagonist, he isn’t the leader of Avalanche. That honor falls to Barrett, and like Aries, he’s emotional, passionate, and has taken drastic measures for his beliefs. It’s fitting that the guy with the machine gun arm would represent the war god’s sign.

Other Aries traits are determination and confidence and Barret rarely doubts himself. He does get into fights pretty easily so he has the impulsiveness of an Aries. In the game’s climax, his headstrong attitude almost gets him killed, but he thankfully recovers.

Taurus –  Tifa Lockheart

Final Fantasy's Tifa sits on a windmill.

Taurus are patient souls. They may be stubborn but they’re loyal friends who are devoted to making people around them feel safe. They also may have hobbies that have them working with their hands, such as for example, boxing, Tifa Lockheart’s key skill in the game.

Tifa is a longtime best friend who is supportive and patient – qualities of a true Taurus. Despite their inner fire, she and Taurus are actually reasonable and responsible. While they can be wild bulls, they’re also a rock for others.

Gemini – Wedge

Final Fantasy VII Remake Wedge

Final Fantasy VII Remake’s likable Wedge personifies the kindness of the zodiac sign Gemini. Although, while optimism shines on the surface, there’s a second face beneath. In Wedge’s case, he smiles to mask his self-loathing and more fearful nature than the other Avalanche members.

Gemini always has two faces and they seek to fulfill both sides of this. In Wedge’s case, he picks up Cloud’s spirits, while Aerith picks up his. Gemini also hates loneliness, which Wedge has filled with three cats.

Cancer – Sephiroth

Final Fantasy 7 Sephiroth Game Square Enix Trademark

Sephiroth was a surprise in Final Fantasy VII Remake as he doesn’t appear in these parts of the original game. He’s an iconic villain defined by his tenacity though, so it’s not really a surprise he’d turn up as tenacity is a big aspect of Cancer. His moodiness and persistence also mark him as that sign.

Cancers can be pessimistic and manipulative, which is true of the iconic Final Fantasy villain. Sephiroth is well known to be devoted to his genetic mother, Jenova, tying into a protective maternal instinct in Cancers. It’s hard to get to know Sephiroth due to his limited screen time, but that’s fitting for Cancers.

Leo – Red XIII

Red XIII FInal Fantasy VII Remake

Red XIII, an experiment by Professor Hojo, appears in Remake’s endgame receiving less spotlight than in the original, not getting much time to let his personality show, although he’s likely to be a big part of Remake, Part 2.  What is shown is enough to pin him as Leo, though. The sign of lions is a great match for XIII’s haughty attitude.

His arrogance is on full display, despite being a lab animal at the mercy of the party. He demands to be treated like royalty and frequently butts heads with members like Barret for minor slights. Leos aren’t used to not being the “king of the jungle.” That being said, he does have good humor about the whole thing like a true Leo.

Virgo – Aerith Gainsborough

Aerith in Final Fantasy 7

Virgos are a careful and humanitarian sign, being detail-oriented with a love of helping others as well as nature. They may be criticized for working too hard or being shy, but they’re still lovely. These are apt descriptions of the beloved Final Fantasy character Aerith Gainsborough.

This flower-seller has a Disney Princess-like calming effect on Cloud. Being a Virgo doesn’t mean she’s demure though, as Virgos are constantly working. This especially applies to Remake Aerith, who knows more than she should. Fans can’t wait to see more of their favorite Virgo in future games.

Libra – Yuffie Kisaragi

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Yuffie DLC Length

Yuffie was optional in the original Final Fantasy VII, but Remake increases her plot importance and changes her personality to be a Libra. While she’s still plucky, this time the ninja from Wutai is also cooperative and diplomatic, which are big Libra traits. Libras also avoid confrontation, which is fitting for a ninja.

In the DLC, Yuffie takes on more responsibility as the leader of her own squad. Like a true Libra, she remains tough while being the social face. Her tag-team attacks with Sonon also demonstrate how cooperative Libras can be. The people of Wutai also live in harmony with nature, which is a Libra trait.

Scorpio – Reno

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Reno

Reno is a member of The Turks, a covert squad run by Shinra Power Company. They’re supposed to be discrete and surgical, but Reno is a fierce Scorpio. He’s a fight-happy maniac that frequently pushes his limits. This Scorpio assertiveness makes it tough for his teammates to reign him in.

Scorpios are powerful and Reno is able to fight Cloud equally. They’re known for their darker and sometimes manipulative nature, which is showcased in his fights and dropping the Sector 7 plate. He’s a terror with Scorpio’s worst qualities, but at least he demonstrates Scorpio’s loyalty to his employers.

Sagittarius – Jessie Rasberry

Jessie pointing in Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Jessie’s role in the original was minor, but in Remake she could be mistaken for a lead with her new prominence and Sagittarius-like traits. She’s an overt and flirty personality with devout Planetologist beliefs. She and Wedge probably have the biggest increased roles, which is fitting as Sagittarius and Gemini are very compatible.

Sagittarius is a traveler, and Jessie’s love of freedom is a plot point that sees her targeted by the Whispers. Sagittarius is a fire sign hungry for social change, which fits her role in Avalanche. The idealism in her sign explains most of her behavior, even her relationship with Cloud. Sagittarius will say anything they want, so of course, she’ll flirt with a trained merc.

Capricorn – Biggs

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Biggs

Capricorn is the sign of pessimists; they can be know-it-alls with a glum worldview. Despite joining the Avalanche group, this is true of Biggs, who has a cynical outlook and is always prepared for everything to go wrong. This also makes him responsible, which is a big trait of Capricorn.

Capricorns cynicism leads them to naturally be master planners with contingencies for everything. When they do make mistakes, they learn and move on from them quickly. This fits the industrious and disciplined Biggs. Capricorns are also known for being in trios and forcing their beliefs with violence, which fits into Biggs’ role in Avalanche.

Aquarius – Madame M

Madame M fans herself in the Final Fantasy VII remake.

Aquarius can come off as aloof. They have an uncompromising attitude that’s very “sink or swim.” This makes them seem cold, but it hides their humanitarian nature. Madame M, one of three enforcers for the brutal kingpin Don Corneo, fits the “Pretty Protege” mold of Aquarius.

Madame M isn’t called a sex worker, though she runs the suggestive hand-massage parlor. She initially seems to help for selfish reasons, but it’s revealed that she believes in their cause in a small detail most Final Fantasy players miss. It’s a great representation of what Aquarius is all about. “Pretty Protege” Aquarius is known to be an attractive person who is secretly a powerful ally.

Pisces – Cloud Strife

Cloud wielding his blade in Final Fantasy VII Remake

The past haunts the Pisces. They are terrified of it coming back and often hide their compassion with sadness. Despite coming across as harsh, Pisces is the sign of the wise and altruistic. Despite their fear of losing others, Pisces will get caught up in the spiritual world around them.

This is wholly Cloud; despite being an ex-Soldier running away from trauma, he finds himself helping rebels. He ends up giving time to everybody in Midgar, showing his Pisces compassion despite trying to stay detached. Pisces also symbolize new beginnings and Cloud definitely has plenty of those in the future given the ending of the game.
