Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade’s New Limit Breaks Revealed

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade’s New Limit Breaks Revealed

Square Enix has revealed the new Limit Breaks that will appear in the INTERmission DLC for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade on PS5. Limit Breaks debuted in their current form in the original FF7 and have appeared in various forms in every mainline Final Fantasy game since.

FF7 Remake brought Limit Breaks back, but each character had different moves to choose from. The Limit Break meter fills up as the player takes damage. Once it’s full, the player can unleash an incredibly powerful attack. As FF7 Remake is the first game in a new series, each character only has two Limit Breaks to choose from. Players can no longer store Limit Breaks and save them for harder battles, as the meter always resets at the end of a fight.

The upcoming Intergrade version of FF7 Remake for PS5 will add two new chapters as part of the INTERmission DLC, starring Yuffie from FF7. The Yuffie content will add new summons and Materia to the game, including Ramuh. A new post on the official Square Enix website has revealed that the INTERmission DLC will add Limit Breaks for Yuffie and Sonon.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade’s New Limit Breaks Revealed

Yuffie’s Limit Break is called Bloodbath, which is a reference to her Bloodfest Limit Break from FF7. Bloodbath will allow Yuffie to perform a flurry of blows, in order to deal a ton of damage to enemies. Sonon has a Limit Break called Dance of the Dragon, which will allow him to perform several blows with his staff. It has also been confirmed that Sonon cannot be directly controlled in battle, and needs to be issued commands by the player. It’s possible for Sonon and Yuffie to perform coordinated attacks against the enemy, with Synergized Art of War allowing them to perform a flurry of attacks, and Synergized Windstorm, which creates a massive blast of wind that strikes foes.

It’s surprising to learn that Sonon won’t be a full party member in INTERmission. It’s possible that the developers want to keep the playable characters the same in both FF7 and the FF7 Remake series. The fact that Sonon is a Kingdom Hearts-style guest character does open the door for similar team-ups. It’s likely that Sephiroth will be playable in the same way in future FF7 Remake installments, as that’s the best way to show his incredible power during the upcoming flashback sequences, without giving the player direct control over his abilities.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and FF7R Episode INTERmission will be available for PS5 on June 10, 2021.
