Warning: SPOILERS lie ahead for Fear the Walking Dead season 8, episode 5!Morgan is seeing red in a new trailer for Fear the Walking Dead season 8, episode 6. Towards the end of episode 5, Morgan’s girlfriend Grace (Karen David) succumbed to her bite, forcing Morgan to put her down to protect their daughter Mo (Zoey Merchant). The episode ended with Morgan trapped in a train car as Mo went with PADRE to clear out a horde of Walkers at a shipyard.
Now, The Walking Dead (via WotNot) has released a new trailer for Fear the Walking Dead season 8, episode 6, which shows Morgan seeing red after Grace’s death.
The trailer for the Fear the Walking Dead mid-season finale features Morgan scrawling words in blood on the train car, struggling with both his recent and past actions. The video also teases a massive herd of Walkers and Morgan trying to protect Mo, possibly from himself as he returns to his violent state.
What Morgan Seeing Red Means For Fear The Walking Dead Season 8
Morgan seeing red is an important attribute of his character first introduced in The Walking Dead season 3, episode 10. The episode saw Rick Grimes discover Morgan surviving on his own, scrawling the names of dead people alongside locations and phrases on the walls of an apartment. While talking to Rick, he told him, “All I see is red,” as he recalled how he lost his son Duane, in turn losing control of his actions. Since then, Morgan has struggled to keep his killer instinct under control when faced with devastating loss.
Because it was too late to administer Fear the Walking Dead‘s zombie bite treatment on Grace, Morgan will likely fall into a mindset more akin to when Duane died in The Walking Dead. The trailer indicates he’ll be aiming his aggression at PADRE, however, with Mo still around to anchor him, the fan-favorite character might still have some control over himself rather than going completely to the dark side.
Since Fear the Walking Dead season 8, episode 6 is the show’s mid-season finale, there will no doubt be a massive climax in the story centered around Morgan and the massive Walker herds shown in the trailer. As the battle against PADRE introduces more zombies into the mix, there’s no telling where Morgan, Madison, and the rest of Fear the Walking Dead‘s characters will end up.
