Fast & Furious Fans Can Build Dom’s Dodge Charger With Cool New LEGO Set

Fast & Furious fans can now build Dom’s Dodge Charger with a cool new LEGO set. The Fast & Furious series is an entertainment powerhouse and a tentpole for Universal Pictures. The movie franchise about street-racing, heist-planning outlaws has spawned spin-offs, theme park rides, and even an animated series. The popularity of the series has also brought in the biggest movie stars, with high caliber talents like Kurt Russell, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron. In the upcoming F9, the ninth installment in the primary movie series, John Cena will portray Dom’s brother.

The Fast franchise doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon. The first spinoff movie, Hobbs & Shaw, did well commercially and received a mixed critical response. The star of the the spinoff movie, Dwayne Johnson, recently confirmed that development has begun for a Hobbs & Shaw sequel. The long-awaited F9 was originally planned for a May 2020 release, but has been pushed back to April of 2021 due to the coronavirus outbreak. While this is a setback for eager fans, it seems that they will have a chance to get their Fast & Furious fix sooner much sooner.

According to The Brothers Brick, fans will get a chance to try out a new Fast & Furious LEGO Technic set of Dom’s trademark Dodge Charger. The toy behemoth recently signed a deal with Universal Pictures to bring Fast to life with brand new LEGO sets. The LEGO set will consist of 1,077 pieces and will be a replica of the 1970 Dodge Charge R/T. The model will also come with wheel-stand position that will be used to display it. The YouTube channel gives viewers a closer look at the upcoming set:

The Dodge Charger will come with a V8 engine, double-wishbone suspension, a wheelie bar, and nitro in the trunk just like the car it is based on. The Dodge Charger set will be available on April 27th, and will retail for $99.99. It is currently available for pre-order on the LEGO website.

LEGO has also had a long history of creating intricately crafted toy sets that tie into movies. Until last fall, LEGO also had maintained a partnership with Warner Bros. for LEGO movie rights. After the partnership expired, LEGO partnered with Universal Pictures. This instantly gets the mind thinking about a Fast & Furious-based LEGO movie: the possibilities are, quite frankly, too enticing to think about right now. Dom’s Dodge Charger is the only model that has been revealed, but it’s always a possibility that casual fans and collectors alike could see more famous movie cars in the LEGO line-up.
