The delivery driver in Far Cry 6 is infuriating fans, with some deciding it’s better to take care of him with a well-placed bullet than to cope with his slow driving and inane requests. Ubisoft’s latest iteration in the Far Cry series launched earlier this month, and since then, fans have both praise and criticism. It has been said that Far Cry 6 does little to expand on the franchise formula, yet provides another expansive map, notable villain, and plenty of easter eggs to be found like series installments of the past. Some aspects have been expanded, like Far Cry 6’s Amigos, or animal companions, and others have simply changed. For example, the game adds horseback riding and a vehicle delivery system that has some players up in arms.
It has been said that horse-riding in Far Cry 6 is the better way to traverse Yara because the third-person perspective is disabled while driving cars, which makes them difficult to control. Horses, on the other hand, have better maneuverability and are still an efficient way to journey across the island. Horses, like the Madrugadian Horse in Far Cry 6, can be found roaming around the map and can be mounted for quick access to speedy transportation. However, in some instances, it’s difficult to avoid mechanical vehicles, though dealing with their delivery driver is another obstacle entirely.
Many fans have expressed their dissatisfaction with Far Cry 6’s delivery driver, with many turning to violence to take out their frustrations. Reddit user apresentformyfriends posted a video in which they executed the delivery driver as he arrived next to Dani Rojas to deliver their ride. The player shot through the car’s windshield, killing the delivery driver before he could participate in his annoying antics. The bloodied delivery driver fell out of the vehicle and the player then hopped in before riding away.
After so many hours, the patience has started to really wear thin from farcry
In previous franchise installments, like Far Cry 5, vehicles could either be hijacked or spawned in from a garage. In Far Cry 6, vehicles can be requested from a wheel menu. The system is supposed to be easy, but the delivery driver adds plenty of frustrations that many players agree are more annoying than they should be. The driver is not only a pessimist but turns what should be prompt deliveries into slow-mo drop-offs. Most times the NPC drives extremely slowly toward Dani Rojas and is prone to running over their animal companion. At times, the delivery driver also prevents players from driving the car and is known to make outrageous requests, such as asking Dani not to touch the radio or adjust the seat. This is especially disappointing for players who love Dani Rojas’ singing voice.
For many, the solution has been to execute the delivery driver when he arrives, to avoid any further interactions with the irritating NPC. Apresentformyfriends’ Reddit forum was filled with players who shared animosity for the delivery driver, sharing their own stories of how they take care of business. One player, however, mentioned that you can’t kill the driver if you use a jeep because the windows are bulletproof. Those who wish to take out the frustrating NPC will have to request a different vehicle.
