Solo Leveling‘s anime has left fans desperately wanting more; fortunately, fans missing the series can check out its upcoming sequel, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok. Solo Leveling: Ragnarok is the sequel to Solo Leveling and follows the journey of Sung Suho, Jinwoo’s son. Presently being published as a web novel, the series has well over 200 chapters and is written by Daul, replacing Chugong, the original author of Solo Leveling. That said, in an interview with Linternaute at the Japan Expo 2023, the CEO and Creative Director of D&C Media revealed that a webtoon adaptation of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok is already in the works and is set to be released in 2024.

Hae-eun Kwak, the Creative Director at D&C Media even went as far as to claim that 2024 would undoubtedly be the year of Solo Leveling, which could not be more true given the massive success of the anime, which has even been confirmed for a second season. This would certainly be the perfect time for Solo Leveling: Ragnarok‘s webtoon adaptation to make its debut, allowing it to capitalize on the success of the Solo Leveling anime and the increased interest in the franchise as a whole.

Solo Leveling: Ragnarok Features Jinwoo’s Son Following in His Footsteps

Written by Daul, published by D&C Media

Solo Leveling: Ragnarok made waves when it first released in April 2023 with over a hundred chapters right off the bat. The series quickly drew in fans of the franchise who were eager to see more of Suho after the brief introduction in the epilogue of Solo Leveling where he was teased as Jinwoo’s potential successor and the next Shadow Monarch. Jinwoo’s shadow soldiers even went as far as to refer to Suho as “the little monarch”, which only added to the anticipation of seeing how his story would unfold and how it would compare to Jinwoo’s.

Judging from the epilogue, fans expected Suho to also go through the same game-like system as Jinwoo had wiped all his memories of the shadow soldiers in hopes of letting him live a normal life. However, when the world is endangered once again in Ragnarok, Suho is set on the same path as his father. Jinwoo sends Beru to awaken Suho’s powers and get him started on a journey much like his own for the sake of the world. Thus, Jinwoo begins getting stronger and ends up gaining far more than just necromancy powers like Jinwoo.

While Jinwoo himself is nowhere to be seen, his absence isn’t felt. Ragnarok boasts a rich plot with fresh antagonists, and new powers and will likely do well as a manhwa. With Solo Leveling‘s original artist Jang Sung-rak having passed away, Ragnarok’s art might be a little different from what fans are used to, but it surely will not disappoint. Overall, while Solo Leveling has been renewed for a second season, it might be some time until it arrives, giving fans plenty of time to read the manhwa and its sequel web novel, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok.

Solo Leveling: Ragnarok is available to read from Tapas.
