Winter is coming thanks to one Game of Thrones fan who has created their own Fortnite skin to celebrate the world of Westeros in battle royale form. It’s an idea so good, Epic Games will be questioning why its own developers didn’t think of it first.

With Game of Thrones known for its bloodthirsty battles and imaginative ways of killing off its characters, it seems to go hand in hand with the battle royale brawler that is Fortnite. Epic Games’ title is known for its equally colorful crop of characters, and having only recently added new skins like Ace and Galaxy, doesn’t look like it is slowing down when it comes to introducing cosmetic skins.

For anyone who ever wanted to see what it could look like if Game of Thrones came to Fatal Fields or Paradise Palms, now they can. Posted on Reddit by boomboxballarin, fans can get a look at the skin dubbed The Warden below. For anyone who hasn’t spotted the similarities, The Warden bears an uncanny resemblance to Kit Harington’s Jon Snow from Game of Thrones. As well as Snow’s notoriously shaggy appearance, the artwork even includes Snow’s trusted Longclaw – which could come in handy for chopping off the heads of the other 99 players in Fortnite.

Although a dancing Thanos popped up in Fortnite to celebrate the release of Avengers: Infinity War, it has been hard to pick out other characters from the world of TV and movies. That being said, with HBO’s hit series coming to an icy end in 2019, a Jon Snow skin could be the perfect way to cross-promote Game of Thrones in Fortnite.

Only recently, fans got their best look yet at the union between Fortnite and Funko’s line of vinyl figures, so themed skins in-game could be the next big step for the battle royale powerhouse. Gamers will remember that Fortnite season 5 introduced a whole host of new skins and one particular character who looked a lot like Kratos from God of War. The Warden skin may only be a fan rendering, but it opens up a whole avenue of possible storylines.

As well as flying dragons, Fortnite could introduce a snow-capped region to celebrate the epic swansong of Game of Thrones‘ final season. Seeing Jon Snow, Cersei, or Tyrion in Fortnite may be a pipe dream for now, but what better way for one of the world’s most popular games to cash in on one of the world’s most popular TV shows? With Fortnite continuing to rule the gaming charts and season 6 on its way, no one knows if Jon Snow could appear in the future of the franchise – he certainly doesn’t know.
