Family Switch follows the Walker family, which includes 16-year-old CC, her 14-year-old brother Wyatt, 2-year-old brother Miles, and their parents. The parents and their teenage children have been butting heads, unable to understand each other’s problems. However, that all changes when a strange cosmic occurrence at the Griffith Park Planetarium forces the family to step into each other’s lives when they swap bodies. As they learn to understand one another better, the Walker family must work together to return to the correct bodies before it is too late.

Family Switch is based on Bedtime for Mommy, written by Amy Krouse Rosenthal. The movie was directed by McG from a screenplay penned by Adam Sztykiel and Victoria Strouse. Family Switch stars an impressive cast led by Jennifer Garner, Ed Helms, Emma Myers, Brady Noon, and Rita Moreno.

25 Best Christmas Movies On Netflix

Between a unique spin on Santa and a visually stunning musical, there are tons of great Christmas films to watch on Netflix this holiday season.

Screen Rant interviewed Ed Helms and Brady Noon, two of the stars of Family Switch. Helms discussed working with Moreno, and Noon explained the relationship between their characters. They also revealed if they were able to swap with one another for a movie from their filmography, like their characters in the movie, which they would choose.

Ed Helms & Brady Noon Talk Family Switch

Screen Rant: Look, this movie is so much fun. It is the perfect holiday movie for the whole family, and it really puts the magical part in the magic of Christmas. Now, you do such a great job of capturing the nuance of playing each other’s counterparts. Can you talk to me about the ensemble? Because you guys, as a family, are incredible. Did that chemistry extend off of the screen as well?

Brady Noon: Yeah, I think for sure. I mean, just being able to work so close with Ed and I feel like immediately as a family, we all kind of connected, and I think that definitely showed on screen. A lot of the times you’re just having fun and sometimes even going off script and just-

Ed Helms: Get over here.

Brady Noon: Yeah. I mean, just being able to work with these people and it’s just such an amazing experience and we all just bonded and got super close so it was super easy.

Ed Helms: 100%.

Ed, there’s so many tremendous comedians that have cameos in this, but also there’s the legendary Rita Moreno in this film. She plays Angelica. Can you talk about sharing the screen with her?

Ed Helms: That woman is electric.

Brady Noon: Yeah.

Ed Helms: She walks on the set and she just holds court. There is something, this energy, that emanates from her. She’s obviously a Hollywood legend and you feel it. She’s a really special performer.

Absolutely. Now, I think McG does such a phenomenal job of blending the family comedy, but there’s bits of action in here too, and hijinks. Can you talk about working with McG and collaborating with him for this film?

Brady Noon: Yeah, working with McG was like nothing else before. His energy is unmatched and it was amazing and it really worked well with our group and we really understood MCG and understood what he wanted and he made it very clear. So it was super simple and it was a lot of fun. He always had a trick up his sleeve or he was always doing something to lead the pack in some way, but he was our guy. He was our leader.

Ed Helms: Yeah, we worked incredibly hard but McG kept it playful.

Brady Noon: Yeah.

Ed Helms: There was always something ridiculous going on and, yeah, it was a blast.

Well, let’s talk about your characters, Bill and Wyatt Walker. Can you talk about who they are and their relationship with each other?

Brady Noon: Yeah. Bill and Wyatt definitely have a unique relationship. I think that they don’t really connect on a personal level right away just because they’re so ying and yang and just so different from each other. But I think once that swap happens and they see both perspectives, it completely changes their relationship as it is, and it’s super important for both of them.

Now, Ed, if you can switch with any three of Brady’s filmography, from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or The Good Boys or The Mighty Ducks, which would you choose?

Ed Helms: Ninja Turtles.

Good option. Good option.

Brady Noon: Yeah.

Ed Helms: No brainer.

Brady Noon: Be a turtle.

Ed Helms: Come on.

Brady Noon: Yeah.

Now, Ed, or for you Brady, if you can choose between The Office, let’s say The Hangover and Captain Underpants, which are you choosing?

Brady Noon: The Hangover.

Yeah.

Brady Noon: Oh, it’s such a good movie.

It’s classic.

Brady Noon: That was probably so much fun to work on and even your character’s so funny. That role must have been sick.
