Family Switch Cast & Character Guide

Family Switch Cast & Character Guide

Netflix’s Family Switch brought together some excellent talent to tell the story of the Walker family, with several additional stars getting in on the action as well. The film puts an added twist on body-swap films like Freaky Friday, 13 Going on 30, 17 Again, and The Change-Up by making the entire Walker family switch bodies with another member. This means that the central actors of Family Switch not only had to master their own characters but also those they were body swaped with—certainly no easy task for a performer.

Family Switch follows the five members of the Walker family (and their dog, Pickles) as they approach the Christmas season and the most important day of each of their lives. A massive promotion, record deal, a position on a national soccer team, and acceptance to an Ivy League university all hang in the balance, and each character has their eyes set on their own prize. However, when an astronomical event causes Jess, Bill, CC, Wyatt, Miles, and Pickles to find themselves in another family member’s body, achieving these goals suddenly seems impossible. Family Switch is pure chaotic comedy, made possible by the exceptional cast.

Jennifer Garner as Jess Walker

Family Switch Cast & Character Guide

Jennifer Garner plays mother Jess Walker in Family Switch, an architect who is one presentation from being made partner at her firm. Meticulous and organized, Jess holds the Walkers together with a significant amount of pressure and expectations, especially regarding her daughter CC. However, when she suddenly finds herself in CC’s shoes, Jess realizes that her way isn’t necessarily the best for everyone.

Garner’s role in Family Switch is remniscent of her starring role in the 2004 film 13 Going on 30, in which she played a teenager in a grown woman’s body. She’s also no stranger to the “mom” role, being one in real life and having a penchant for such characters as in the 2021 family film Yes Day. Garner’s other notable credits include the ABC thriller Alias, the 2018 film Peppermint, and 2005’s Elektra.

Ed Helms as Bill Walker

Ed Helms’ Bill Walker is the goofy, charismatic father of the family who is still dreaming of his high school glory days—which is likely why he has chosen the career of the high school band director. Bill’s passion is music, and when he is not trying to inspire young musicians, he plays with his rock band, “Dad or Alive.” The group even has an opportunity for a record deal, which would see Bill’s long-put-off dreams finally come to life. However, he finds himself frustrated with his son Wyatt, who is eager to leave behind what Bill considers the golden years of life.

Helms is a comedian and actor known for his role in the Hangover franchise and for playing Andy Bernard in the NBC sitcom The Office. He also starred and co-wrote the comedy series Rutherford Falls from 2021 to 2022. Helms has played in other family comedies like Family Switch, with We’re the Millers among the most notable. Helms has dozens of other credits in film and TV, such as Vacation, Tag, Father Figures, Together Forever, Cedar Rapids, and much more.

Emma Myers as CC Walker

Emma Myers played Family Switch‘s high school soccer star, CC Walker, who, though appearing a little disorganized to her mother, works tirelessly to meet the expectations placed on her. After learning that a scout for the national team will be at her upcoming game, CC becomes ever more focused on her goals, which means she is much more frustrated with her mother’s lack of understanding of her priorities and passions. CC believes her mother is a passion-less robot, but her experience in the woman’s body changes everything.

Myers is best known for playing Enid Sinclair, Wednesday Addams’ bubbly roommate and unlikely best friend in the Netflix series Wednesday. This role meant Myers’ official rise to fame, but it was far from her introduction to film and TV. She had previously appeared in the 2010 crime drama series The Glades, the 2021 film Girl in the Basement, and 2010’s Letters to God.

Brady Noon as Wyatt Walker

The middle child of the Walker family, Wyatt (Brady Noon), is a genius who, unlike his father, finds high school a nightmare. Heavily bullied and eager to move past this period in his life, Wyatt has the opportunity to gain early admittance to Yale if only he can nail the interview. His father, however, thinks that the freshman shouldn’t skip over his entire high school experience and that he could come out of his shell if he only tried a little harder.

Though only 17 in Family Switch, Noon already has an impressive resume. He started his career in 2010 playing Thomas Darmody in the HBO period drama Boardwalk Empire and later played Evan Morrow in the Disney+ series The Might Ducks: Game Changers. Noon has played in films such as the 2019 Good Boys and Marry Me (2022) and has done voice work for the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (2023).
