Fallout Season 2’s Location Change Sets Up An Appearance By This Epic New Character

Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Amazon’s Fallout TV show.

Fallout season 2 will likely bring Lucy and the Ghoul to New Vegas, which perfectly sets up an appearance from one of the coolest characters from the games. Fallout season 2 hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it’s already posing extremely exciting opportunities for the future of the show. Fallout already had some great references to the games, but season 2 could take those references to the next level and include a major character from Fallout: New Vegas.

The end of Fallout season 1 showed Hank MacLean heading to a hugely important location: New Vegas. In the Fallout games, New Vegas was highly sought after due to both its function as the gateway between the Eastern and Western United States and the fact that it was relatively unharmed in the Great War. New Vegas will likely be just as important to Fallout season 2 as it was to the games, and it opens up a host of new possibilities for the story. One of those possibilities involves a beloved character from Fallout: New Vegas, and their appearance could

Fallout Season 2 Could Feature A Cameo From The Courier

They would be the perfect reference to the events of Fallout: New Vegas

Since a large portion of Fallout season 2 will likely take place in New Vegas, there’s ample opportunity to include characters from the game. One of the best options for a potential Fallout: New Vegas cameo is none other than the player character, Courier 6. The Courier is one of the most iconic characters in the entire game, so including them in season 2 would be the perfect way to incorporate New Vegas. The Fallout show will have to address what happened after the events of the game simply by nature of being set in New Vegas, and Courier 6 presents the perfect way to broach the topic.

The Courier is one of the most likely survivors of the destruction of New Vegas. While characters like Mr. House may have survived due to their importance, Courier 6 likely survived due to their own skill. The Courier is considered a legendary warrior and survivor, so even the destruction of New Vegas probably wouldn’t be enough to take them down. The Courier’s survival would mean they could appear in Fallout season 2, but there are also several pitfalls the show would have to avoid in introducing them.

Why Fallout Needs To Depict The Courier Carefully

Giving too much information on Courier 6 risks undermining the game’s customization

There are certain parts of the Courier that are consistent, but there’s no official canon version of the character. Fallout: New Vegas is a roleplaying game, meaning players are allowed to create their own character down to the appearance, decide what they do and say, and basically form their own personalized version of Courier 6. Because of that, there are many wildly different versions of the Courier. For one player, they could be a fearsome woman who uses violence as a first resort, while to another player, they could be a peaceful man who prefers to negotiate their way out of trouble.

To many players, the customization New Vegas affords with the Courier is a major part of the game’s allure. Creating their own version of Courier 6 allowed players to become more immersed in the world of Fallout, which made the game and its story more compelling. If Fallout shows too much of the Courier, like how they look and behave, it would create a canon version of the character and undermine one of many players’ favorite parts of New Vegas. There isn’t a way to transfer that level of customization to a TV show, so Fallout will have to be strategic with how it depicts Courier 6.

How A Courier 6 Cameo Could Work For Fallout Season 2

The Fallout show should keep them as a mysterious and ambiguous figure

If Fallout includes a Courier cameo, it will have to be handled well to avoid canonizing any particular version and ruining such a beloved part of the games. The best way for the Fallout show to include Courier 6 is to rely on the few canon parts of their character and keep them as a mysterious figure. There are a few ways the show could accomplish that, from hiding the Courier’s appearance behind a New California Republic ranger helmet to having them remain silent in their cameo.

There are also several possibilities for the Courier’s potential role in Fallout season 2. They could have a small cameo, like appearing to help Lucy and the Ghoul in a moment of need. While that’s the most likely and feasible way to introduce Courier 6, they could also become much more important. Fallout season 2 will likely delve into how New Vegas was destroyed, and if the Courier would be a tremendous help in finding the culprits. As long as the Courier is handled well in the Fallout show, they could become one of the most exciting parts of the new season.
