Fallout 76 Player Creates Giant Kirby Player Home

Nintendo’s pink puff has come to Bethesda’s online role-playing game Fallout 76, thanks to an incredible Kirby-themed C.A.M.P. created by one talented player. Similar to Minecraft, Fallout 76‘s C.A.M.P. system allows players to build player homes or shelters using nothing more than their imagination and the title’s crafting mechanics. Thanks to this, Fallout 76 players have been recreating locations from other video games, movies, shows, and entire worlds from popular media properties. Recently, one dedicated player managed to entirely recreate BioShock‘s underwater Rapture setting using the tools available in Fallout 76‘s C.A.M.P system. This is one of many examples of how C.A.M.P allows players creative freedom to let their imagination run free.

Fallout 76, the online action role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks, saw a rocky launch in 2018 which sparked a great deal of outcry from a disappointed player base. In a sizable effort to resuscitate the title, however, Bethesda introduced many minor patches to Fallout 76, followed by bigger updates to draw players and grow the community. Shortly after adding the long-awaited NPC update in Wastelanders, Bethesda introduced the Brotherhood of Steel storyline. This ongoing story recently saw its finale in the Steel Reign DLC, which was praised for its deep narrative and made for a promising teaser of the potential future of Appalachia.

A Fallout 76 player known as Smugpotato has harnessed the C.A.M.P system to create a fun recreation of Kirby, one of Nintendo’s most beloved characters and franchises. In a screenshot posted on Twitter, Smugpatato shows off the Kirby player home’s giant exterior. The home appears to be pink with two stubby arms, two red feet, two oval-shaped eyes with black pupils, and even the blush that is commonly seen on Kirby’s cheeks. While the interior of the Kirby house is not shown, the exterior remains a faithful recreation of Nintendo’s adorable hero.

While the lovable Kirby may not be a fitting inclusion for most Fallout games due to their dark and gritty nature, this build fits well in Fallout 76. Bethesda has ensured that the title is more vibrant and upbeat to insure players are enjoying their time in Appalachia together instead of trying to constantly survive like in previous titles. In addition to silly decorative C.A.M.P items like water slides, each Fallout 76 season has been heavily based on in-universe comic-book characters and stories, giving players a better glimpse at the universe’s more comedic inspirations.

Although the game was initially regarded as a failure, Fallout 76 has come a long way, and its community calendar appears to have even more lined up to carry players into March 2022 with even more exclusive events and cosmetics. This Kirby-themed player home build is a great example of the kinds of unique creations players can craft in the game and is hopefully a sign of more cool content to come.

Fallout 76 is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
