Warning! Spoilers for The Walking Dead’s ‘Clementine Book One’ by Skybound/Image Comics
Clementine from The Walking Dead is starring in her own original graphic novel by Tillie Walden, Clementine: Book One, and we’ve got an exclusive new look at the Skybound/Image Comics title. Walden, the award-winning author, and artist of the OGN’s On A Sunbeam and Skim, will follow the popular Telltale’s The Walking Dead character as the youngster tries to survive in a world filled with walkers while forging a new path forward. Clementine Book One will be the first release under the new Skybound Entertainment imprint, Skybound Comet.
Clementine was the main protagonist breakout character from Telltale’s The Walking Dead video game series. In the series, she teams up with Lee Everett and comes under his protection as her parents are nowhere to be found. Her story seemed over as the series ended with Clementine alive in Ericson with an amputated leg. However, The Walking Dead creator surprised readers by mentioning Clementine’s name in the Negan Lives one-shot comic. Clementine would make her comic book debut in the Skybound X anthology title, setting the stage for her adventures in the upcoming Tillie Walden graphic novel.
On Thursday, Skybound Comics shared a first look with us for the upcoming Tillie Walden original graphic novel. In the preview for Clementine Book One, Clementine is fresh from getting her leg amputated, as she gets a prosthetic leg from a dentist who learned a thing or two from a prosthesis who lived with him for a while.
Clementine is eager to get back on the road despite just being fitted for her prosthetic leg. However, the dentist tells her she can’t treat her new prosthetic like her old leg and offers her a cane and some supplies as she rushes out the door.
Clementine makes the long trek out of the city, taking down a walker before finding refuge in a tree. The young hero is clearly exhausted.

In a press release, The Walking Dead co-creator Robert Kirkman said that he’s excited to have an authentic voice such as Walden’s for the book.
