Evil Dead: The Game Ultimate Edition Includes Necronomicon Replica

The newly-revealed Evil Dead: The Game Ultimate Collector’s Edition comes with various bonuses, including a full-sized replica of the dreaded Necronomicon. The upcoming cooperative survival horror title will allow players to take the role of various franchise characters, including protagonist Ash Williams, or become the horrific Kandarian Demon. Recently Evil Dead: The Game was delayed to May 2022, though developer Saber Interactive has promised to share more information about the game in the coming months.

Based on the hilarious horror franchise, Evil Dead: The Dead will be an asymmetric multiplayer survival game similar to Friday the 13th: The Game or Dead by Daylight. A group of up to four players can play as human survivors, like Army of Darkness’ Lord Arthur and Ash vs Evil Dead’s Kelly Maxwell, who are tasked with collecting pages of the iconic Necronomicon book. Meanwhile, one player controls the Kandarian Demon who can disrupt their enemies by possessing them or summoning enemy demons. Fans were pleased to discover that Bruce Campbell will return for Evil Dead: The Game, once again portraying the beloved Ash Williams, despite his self-proclaimed retirement following the Ash vs Evil Dead series’ conclusion.

The Ultimate Collector’s Edition of Evil Dead: The Game has been revealed by Saber Interactive, showing off amazing bonuses including a full-scale replica of the Necronomicon. The iconic Book of the Dead summons demons to terrorize those who read it, and its memorable cover features a horrible demonic face and appears to be bound with human skin. The replica is only included with the Ultimate Collector’s Edition of Evil Dead: The Game, which is unfortunately sold out, but the regular Collector’s Edition is currently still available.

Evil Dead: The Game Ultimate Edition Includes Necronomicon Replica

While the Collector’s Edition does not include the Necronomicon, it does feature a wide range of both physical and in-game Evil Dead: The Game extras. The bundle comes with the Deluxe Edition of the game, which includes the Season 1 Pass, nestled inside an exclusive steel book case. An art card collection and t-shirt make for excellent fan memorabilia, as does a hardcover art book and vinyl soundtrack. An exclusive in-game skin reflects the work of beloved horror special effects artist Tom Savini, and two additional outfits give Ash his Gallant Knight armor and S-Mart uniform. A collectible box, bearing the likeness of a Deadite, completes the groovy package.

Evil Dead: The Game will act as a continuation of the beloved franchise, but Saber Interactive is not the first developer to adapt the hilariously horrid series to gaming. A 1984 Evil Dead game was released on the retro Commodore 64 console, and more modern action titles were also released such as 2000’s Evil Dead: Hail to the King. For years rumors also circulated that Evil Dead’s Ash would join Mortal Kombat, though the undead hunter failed to appear in Mortal Kombat 11’s DLC roster.

To pay tribute to the horror franchise’s long and varied history, Evil Dead: The Game’s Collector’s Edition includes a wide range of keepsakes. While the Necronomicon replica is the most breathtaking item available, the Ultimate Collector’s Edition has sadly been sold out by eager gamers. However, fans of humorous scares can still hail to the king by ordering the standard Collector’s Edition of Evil Dead: The Game.

Evil Dead: The Game will release on May 13, 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
