The cooperative survival title Evil Dead: The Game, based on the hit horror comedy franchise, has been delayed again. Announced back in 2020, the game will allow multiple players to work together and take down Deadites while one gamer takes control of a monstrous demon. Evil Dead: The Game will feature Bruce Campbell as the voice of protagonist Ash Williams, apparently marking the actor’s final performance as the lighthearted undead hunter.Developed by Saber Interactive, Evil Dead: The Game appears to follow in the footsteps of other cooperative survival games like Friday the 13th: The Game and Dead by Daylight. Choosing from multiple playable characters from throughout the series, including Ash and Lord Arthur, players must battle through hordes of Deadites in order to collect pages of the Necronomicon. One player may also choose to control the Kandarian Demon itself, which is able to possess non-player characters in order to attack the survivors. Rather than the established February 2022 launch, the Deadite-slaying simulator will now release on May 13, 2022. The exact reason for the delay has not been specified by Saber Interactive, with the developer merely explaining that the extra time will allow the delivery of “the best possible experience.” The studio claims that May 13 will be the final release date, with the day creepily falling on Friday the 13th.
