Everything We Know About Killroy Was Here

Killroy Was Here, the new horror anthology film from director Kevin Smith, is on its way in 2021, and here’s what we know about it so far. When it comes to fan-friendly directors, there are few in the league of Kevin Smith. While some filmmakers prefer to stay nestled inside Hollywood’s walled garden, Smith loves to meet fans in person, regularly touring the country and attending various fan events prior to Coronavirus putting a stop to such things.

Smith’s primary claim to fame as a filmmaker is his View Askewniverse, comprising movies like Clerks, Mallrats, and Dogma. However, in recent years Smith has also spent a lot of time working within the horror genre, of which he is an avowed fan. His first horror movie was the politically charged Red State, followed by the absolutely crazy Tusk, the mostly panned Yoga Hosers, a segment for the anthology Holidays, and now Killroy Was Here. He’s also working on a Canada-set Jaws spoof called Moose Jaws.

Killroy Was Here actually began life as a Krampus-centered anthology called Comes the Krampus, but Smith eventually decided to strip the Christmas trappings and Krampus out of it. Principal photography was completed in 2018, and here’s what we know about when Killroy will actually be here.

Killroy Was Here Story Details

Killroy Was Here - Killroy

Killroy was once a man, exhibiting murderous tendencies even as a child, and eventually became a cannibalistic killer during the Vietnam War. Attempts to rehabilitate him were unsuccessful, and Killroy eventually mutated into a monster. Since Killroy Was Here is an anthology, it’s a bit unclear if he’ll figure directly into every story, or only pop up on occasion.

Killroy Was Here Trailer

Included above is the most definitely R-rated trailer for Killroy Was Here, which is jam-packed full of splattery gore. Killroy appears to be a slasher-type killer, and wow does he not hold back, even brutalizing Harley Quinn Smith’s face. The trailer also teases what looks to be a priest with bad sexual intentions for some young boys, who will hopefully get carved up pleasingly by Killroy.
