Everything We Know About Kid Cosmic Season 2

Everything We Know About Kid Cosmic Season 2

Here’s everything known so far about Kid Cosmic season 2, including its potential renewal, possible release date, and story details. Created by Craig McCracken – the mind behind The Powerpuff Girls – the science fiction animated series follows a young boy who aspires to be a beloved superhero. Unfortunately, his skills aren’t that impressive – at least not at first.

In Kid Cosmic season 1, an orphaned boy known only as The Kid (Jack Fisher) discovers five “rings of destiny” at an alien crash site in the desert. Hoping to assemble a proper superhero team, he tracks down a local teenager named Jo (Amanda Céline Miller) and displays his flying power as a recruiting tool. When The Kid’s four-year neighbor, Rosa (Lily Rose Silver), manages to acquire one of the rings and turns into a 40-foot superhero, it becomes evident that the “Local Heroes” may be ready to square off against alien baddies. The Kid and company receive life advice from an old-timer named Papa G (Keith Ferguson), while a trapped alien called Stuck Chuck (Tom Kenny) teases the arrival of The Great Leader. Meanwhile, an actual cat known as Tuna Sandwich (Fred Tatasciore) joins the Local Heroes when it’s revealed that a ring allows him to see into the future. The Netflix show revolves around the idea that “Life doesn’t come with an instruction manual.”

Kid Cosmic season 1 reveals that some of the Local Heroes pretended to be alien baddies so that The Kid could have an opportunity to earn a “Medal of Heroism for Heroes.” Unsurprisingly, The Kid spends some time away from the group after being labeled as “comic relief.” However, when a mysterious government official reveals the truth about the power rings, The Kid comes to the realization that the invading aliens may actually have good intentions.

Kid Cosmic Season 2 Renewal

Everything We Know About Kid Cosmic Season 2

Netflix hasn’t greenlit Kid Cosmic season 2. Based on the typical renewal/cancellation schedule, an announcement could be made within two months of season 1’s release. If the series resonates with critics and general streamers, then Kid Cosmic season 2 will mostly likely be ordered rather quickly, as is the case with other popular hits. According to a recent report (via Digital Spy), a Netflix employee revealed in a now-deleted tweet that two more seasons are “on the way.”

Kid Cosmic Season 2 Release Date

Based on Netflix’s history of releasing family-themed animated series, Kid Cosmic season 2 could debut later in 2021 or during the early months of 2022. If Kid Cosmic gets big streaming numbers, then season 2 will likely be prioritized for the latter half of 2021.

Kid Cosmic Season 2 Story

Kid Cosmic Season 1 on Netflix

In Kid Cosmic season 1, the climax shows the Biker in Black acquiring the power rings and assembling a group of super soldiers called the Earth Force Enforcement Force. The Kid then realizes that the rings belong to the aliens, and they don’t need mean to harm anybody. Specifically, it’s revealed that each stone is the remnant of a destroyed world that was ruined by Erodius the Planet Killer. Kid Cosmic eventually finds out that he has telekinetic powers, which allows him channel the Earth’s force and acquire the rings from the Biker in Black. The aliens later return home, however the final moments show that Queen Xhan is the lone survivor of yet another attack by Erodius, and she subsequently enlists the Local Heroes for an intergalactic mission. Kid Cosmic season 1 ends with the Local Heroes being teleported into space, along with Flo’s entire truck stop restaurant.

Kid Cosmic season 2 will presumably feature all of the main characters, with Erodius being the central villain. New episodes on Netflix will be much more ambitious, it seems, as the narrative will depart from the original season’s American Southwest setting. And even though the Biker in Black lost a battle to the Local Heroes, he hasn’t necessarily lost the war. So, the military man will most likely find a way to track down the stones, especially upon learning that there are now eight more in existence.
