Netflix’s The Mole is a reality competition series that follows a group of contestants trying to win money, and one of them has a different objective: to try and make them lose it all. Everyone is a suspect, as there are countless opportunities for the mole to slyly mess with the rest of the contestants. The show is filmed all across scenic Australia, from the jungle to the Great Barrier Reef and everywhere in between. The Mole starts out with 12 contestants, and they have a quiz that determines who goes home each time. They gain money when the successfully complete a variety of outlandish challenges. They have professional gamer Avori Henderson, Covid-19 nurse Casey Lary, machine operator Dom Gabriel, marketing consultant Greg Shapiro, firefighter Jacob Hacker, and pilot Joi Schweitzer. Rounding out the cast is software developer Kesi Neblett, real estate agent Osei White, law student (turned associate) Pranav Patel, mental health counselor Samara, therapist Sandy Ronquillo, and finally lifestyle brand manager William Richardson.

The cast is what makes the show, as there were immediately contestants who fans wanted to root for and those whose actions angered fans, getting them more heavily invested in who wins the money. Viewers may not know this, but The Mole is actually a reboot of a show in the early 2000s of the same name. It ran for five seasons before getting canceled, and has found a new life on Netflix.

What makes The Mole unique is that the contestants and audience are playing detective the entire time, trying to piece together clues as to who is sabotaging the missions.
