The Pokémon Trading Card Game is getting a Fall 2022 Collector Chest to kick off the Autumn season, and it’s packed with rare promo cards. Three years after the Generation 8 series launched in 2020, Nintendo has released a total of ten mainline Pokémon Sword and Shield TCG sets. To celebrate the release of the eleventh expansion Lost Origin, the Pokémon Company is bringing back its Fall Collector Chest product line. This years autumn-themed tin will not only feature a variety of TCG goodies, but it will also include rare promo cards of Hisuian Pokémon from Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
With the announcement that Gen 9 Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be launching this Fall, The Pokémon Company has confirmed that the Sword and Shield TCG series would also be coming to an end with the release of the Silver Tempest expansion in November. Despite being its final year, the Nintendo tabletop game has already released a wave of new products, including the Brilliant Stars and Astral Radiance expansions.
The tabletop game isn’t just getting expansions in the final stretch of Gen 8 though, as The Pokémon Company is also releasing a variety of unique accessories such as the spooky TCG Trick Or Trade Halloween set. On November 28, the TCG is debuting the Fall 2022 Collector Chest which comes with a handful of Hisuian promo cards and booster packs. Below is a breakdown of everything that players can get in the autumn-themed collectors tin.
What’s Included In The Pokémon TCG Fall 2022 Collector Chest
The Pokémon TCG Fall 2022 Collector Chest will retail for $24.99 and features five booster packs. However, the product’s most important items are the three rare promo cards which include Hisuian Voltorb, Hisuian Growlithe, and Hisuian Sneasel. While the collectibles are technically reprints of previous releases, these are the first time the Hisuian cards will be available as holographic foils.
The Collector Chest will also come packed with five booster packs, including two from September’s Pokémon Lost Origin TCG expansion. While it’s not confirmed what expansion’s the other three packs are from, promotional images show products from the Astral Radiance and Fusion Strike sets. Even though Lost Origin technically comes out on September 9, the Fall 2022 Collector Chest looks to be one of the final accessories tied to the eleventh Sword and Shield expansion. The Fall set will feature Sinnoh Legendary Giratina as a VSTAR and will bring back the popular “Lost Zone” mechanic from the 2009 Pokémon Platinum TCG series.
With November’s Silver Tempest release confirmed to be the final mainline Sword and Shield expansion, Nintendo has also revealed that the Pokémon Trading Card Game‘s first Gen 9 Pokémon Scarlet and Violet TCG set will make its debut in early 2023.
