Everything Everywhere Directors Set Next Project With Steven Yeun

Everything Everywhere All at Once directors, the Daniels, have set their next project. Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert a.k.a Daniels, are film directors and writers who began their careers as music video directors, while also creating their own short films and working on a few TV shows. They have since delved more into feature-length movies, having written and directed the surreal comedy-drama Swiss Army Man in 2016, and more recently the 2022 science-fiction action comedy Everything Everywhere All at Once, which has since become A24’s highest-grossing film of all time.

Now, per Deadline, Daniels have their next project set up: a half-hour comedy pilot, Mason, for produced by A24 for Showtime. The duo will direct and executive produce alongside actor and producer Steven Yeun and writer, cartoonist, and stand-up comedian Nathan Min. Min is also the creator of the project and will star in the titular role. Mason is a surrealist comedy based on Min’s real-life experiences, revolving a quiet man named Nathan, often misheard as “Mason,” who is looking for connection in a loud world.

Coming off their hit film Everything Everywhere All at Once, which has truly cemented the duo in the film industry, the Daniels’ new project should be a shoo-in for success. While further plot or casting details are slim at the moment, there’s no need for fans of the filmmakers to worry. With this upcoming series having a surrealist theme and being produced by A24 again, the Daniels should feel right as home and be on their way to more critical acclaim, just like with Everything Everywhere All At Once.
